We are currently staying in an area of Acapulco called Las Playas.
It has a small beach five minutes walk away. We've never gone there in the day time to swim because of the crowds so we were going there at night when the beach was deserted. It was really nice.
Last week we went for the usual swim under the moonlight enjoying the quietness and the tepid water.
Upon emerging from the water we discovered that someone had taken our things which consisted of our flip flops , my dress and Marc's shirt.
I guess it wouldn't have been such a tragedy if we had any other footwear and didn't have to go barefoot to the market the next day to get new flip flops with people looking and wondering why we would go barefoot on the hot dirty streets.
So we've been turned off a bit now from the night swimming scene.
Yesterday we wanted to go for a walk in a more quiet area of town to get away from traffic and crowds.
We walked toward a place called La Quebrada which is known for the famous tourist attraction here where divers jump into the water off steep cliffs, one being about forty feet high and the other eighty feet.
But we didn't go there to check out the cliff divers, but just to enjoy a peaceful walk with breathtaking views.
I found that looking out so far and wide into the ocean made me feel somewhat vulnerable, thinking about how far the water goes.
Looking down at the water below the steep beautiful cliffs made me feel a little queasy but also thrilled with the splendor and grandeur of nature.
We are not that much into the typical tourist attractions anymore. But I have seen the cliff divers many times before, and am thoroughly impressed that people can do these amazing stunts. I wouldn't dare to do anything even remotely like that obviously. Except maybe in the metaphorical sense.
The extent of me living dangerously these days is going barefoot down a busy dirty paved road.
Thanks for stopping by
Such a shame that someone would steal something so relatively trivial as flip flops, a dress, and a shirt. Those views over the cliffs are amazing! 😊

I can't resist linking to Elvis fake-diving at La Quebrada. Holy green-screen, Batman!
