Camping at the Grand Canyon

After leaving my broken down car in California (I sold it for parts), and seeing the kids off to fly home with their dad, we took off for the Grand Canyon in hopes of arriving before sunset.

The car situation put us a day behind schedule, we were supposed to have arrived the previous night and enjoyed an entire day in the National Park. Alas, the Universe had other plans for us.

We arrived in time to enjoy the sunset with a crowd of onlookers, then found a free place to camp in the forest just south of the National Forest.

In the AM we ate at a great little camping diner and drove along the south rim as we departed for New Mexico.

the view is nice out of the tent. Are the animals are making noise there when it it hot? I forgot they name. Sorry.

No noises really but the WIND!

I need to get back to the Grand Canyon and keep talking about it. Chuck and his three girls have never been so it's on our list for sure. A group of us are going camping in Arches in Utah in August though. A whole other kind of magick there!

OH! Tell me about Arches Utah?!

Arches is freaking Magickal! Especially staying over night. The landscape feels like you have entered another realm where rock people live in harmony - the rocks often look like giant humans. And the sunsets there are spectacular.

wow nice..... safe travels....
