Windmills and canals, is a small part of what you would see during a brief walk in Zaanse Schans, a typical Dutch town a bit North West of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. This a perfect spot to relax and appreciate how the Dutch have transformed the power of wind (of which they have plenty) into means to work the wood, grains, manufacture species, extract oil and more. You could even take a brief trip on the Zaan river to appreciate the town and the windmills from a different perspective. Is really recommended place to visit if you are in the country and see the traditional Netherlands.
