I was really fortunate, since the third person I asked for a ride, to Riga, on the car deck of Helsinki-Tallinn ship, was going exactly there. He left me near the city center and I decided to book a cheap hostel (7€) for the night. Shower was pretty nice, because this day had been much more warmer than I anticipated: 14 degrees - I'm starting to sweat in those temperatures!
I'm not actually sure how I will continue; I booked the hostel for this single night only, but it's actually slightly annoying to drag these dried fruits around, so I'm a little tempted to wait for another day here in Riga and pay 50€ for a bus that would take me straight to Krakow on 3rd of November. That would also leave one full day to look around Riga. Although I would greatly enjoy exploring with some company instead alone.
I don't know why, but I feel heavy, even though I had a phenomenal start, maybe the weird looks of pedestrians got into me - I thought I could own being a weirdo. Why would I give a fuck what others think? I'm just a passenger never seen again. Why do I feel like crap? It's like I'm just sucking it in regardless of my own will. I feel like a dysfunctional being - something along the way sometime just went wrong.
I should be excited - and I know I will - once I finally get to meet you all. Maybe it's again just about expectations: you think an adventure would be exciting, but what if it's not? What if I'm doomed to a life of dullness no matter what I do, no matter what I chase?
Fuck, this took a complete different turn than expected.
Sigh... I will just sleep over the night and see what I'll do.
Right, here are some pictures I took.
Janis, the guy who drove me, dropped some stuff he had along to his summer place.
Though that's actually the warehouse.
That thing in the background was of his summer place, but I was more interested of these mushrooms.
Yeah... I actually got slightly lost while looking for my hostel even though I have Internet connection available - how embarrassing.
It is amazing what you're doing mate but... if your'e not feeling it
There is no shame in jumping a bus if that's what you want to do! Who said what an adventure is meant to be. If spending time in Riga for a few days is what feels right and then busing it to Krakow then that's the adventure your soul was looking for. Sleep on it, tomorrow is a new day and maybe a new perspective.
See you soon @celestal

Yeah, now that I ended up in the center of Riga, I decided to chill for a full day and another night here and buy the ticket for the buss - I didn't want to leave right away feeling in such a hurry. I guess it also comes down to the slight uncertainty of having to meet a deadline with hitchhiking, which, I guess, I dislike. So, where ever I decide to head after Steemfest - home or somewhere else - I think I'll be much more comfortable with hitching when there's no deadlines to meet (and no 12 kg of dried fruit, lol).
I'll be in Krakow on 3rd for certain, so I'll be waiting you there!

Maybe ditch the fruit and hitch, or keep the fruit and get a bus.
8KGs is a hell of a lot of weight to carry around with you!

NEVER! That shit's really valuable in stores! Heh, anyway, I decided to take the buss, so the fruit will stay with me :D
It's actually 12 kilos, haha.

I think you already took a huge leap into doing something others wouldn't even imagine of doing -- that alone is something to be proud of, but like @raj808 said, if you're not feeling it, it's fine to just hop on the bus and do things the usual way, with more convenience.

Yeah, like I already answered to Raj, I decided to buy the ticket to the bus. I guess it came down to this because of multiple factors: my inexperience, my dried fruit ("great idea", yeah, lol) and getting drift into the city center by chance, and cheap hostels.
