It's been a long time away from home - 50 days to be exact - but tomorrow I will be sailing back to Finland from Stockholm and railing back to home with a train.

For this last night I tried to get myself a host via Couchsurfing, but no luck this time either. I could've stayed in a hostel, of course, but didn't because I'm broke.

So, that's why I'm doing the last night the good ol' hobo style - appropriate way to end the adventure before my own bed. I actually found a nice spot really close to the harbor, so I will quickly get to the ship after waking up early in the morning. I will mark the place down using Steemitworldmap, so that next time you can be like "yup, that's where the guy spent his night."

Couchsurfing is a great idea, but getting a host seems to be really hard; even when you make every request personal - showing that you have read the hosts profile - it's still more likely to be declined, so it makes you not want to even try when knowing there's only a slight chance for the request to go through. I think it's the sheer amount of travelers compared to hosts which creates a lot of competition between surfers. Of course, everybody can choose for their own who they let in, but I'm not expecting to find hosts via the app anymore without it being an exception. I've actually couchsurfed several times outside the app, and only once via the app. Hostels seem to be a better place to meet new people anyway, albeit they cost money. Little, but still. But for short "one night stands", camping goes well - it's really easy to do here in Stockholm because there's a lot of parks, and wild camping is actually completely legal here (not that I would care tho). That's one reason to love Scandinavia and Finland - it's a good place for a wild man (especially on summer).

By the way, I still have some dried fruit.

That's actually all I have left from the box. Still 3 + one opened one left back at home. 2 boxes for Steemfest 4? Maybe I could do something similar as @blewitt, and include some dried fruit in every goodie bag that Steemians get.

Oh well, enough with the dried fruit, it'll be nice to get some good rest at home soon.

Excellent adventure...it’s a pity you are about to end it

Yeah... But I'm sure it won't be the last one.

That looks a bit scary, I wouldn't like to spend a night there, but I guess it might be fun :) Looks kinda cold tho.
I'm sure it will be good to be home after all this traveling, at least for a little bit ;)
And I love the idea of putting dried fruit in the goody bags at SF4 :)))

Camping is bit more fun at summer, but doable in winter too - it's just the matter of gear.

Streets are more scary to sleep because there's more people there - and where there's people, there's bad things happening. In the woods I feel safe because the chance of (hostile) human encounter is miniscule.
