Recently, this year my friends and I planned a trip to Europe! We voted on which countries to visit because there are so many places to see in Europe. Out of all the various countries, the popular vote won and we narrowed it down to two, Italy and France. All three of us did our research very thoroughly and thought our itinerary through. Since we all are busy students with limited time on our hands we decided to focus on one city for each country. We, then, planned to do a road trip to Florence on the way to France after visiting the beautiful city of Rome. All of our activity that we did in total took one and a half weeks max.
Here I present to you: The Wonders of Europe! (Italy Edition)
[p.s this blog is only focusing on Italy]
No one is a happy camper when you have to wake up at 4 a.m., but when we heard the alarm go off from one of our friends phone we were all alert. I mean, who wouldn't be wide awake wondering what the heck is going on when your friend set the alarm sound to an angry Chinese man telling you to wake up? Slowly getting out of bed, all three of us were walking around the apartment like zombies. After doing our morning routines we were up and out. We called an uber and headed directly towards the airport for our departure. The airlines we took was Lufthansa and mentally groaned at the fact that the flight was going to be 13 hours long. Who isn't excited for that!? I wasn't. Sitting separately from each other we boarded the airplane and was ready to take off to Italy!
Look it's our airplane!
The beautiful view of the Alps!
I captured another airplane in flight across from us. I thought that was neat.
After what felt like ages we were less than 20 mins away from our true destination!!
WE MADE IT SUCCESSFULLY TO ROME!!!
Once we were settled into our hotel room the first thing on our agenda was to go and see the Vatican.
Here are our entry tickets. I apologize for the blurriness we were pretty excited haha.
When is the Vatican not crowded?
St. Peter's Basilica was the next to-do on our itinerary. When we arrived at the world's largest church building our minds and hearts were blown away. It was an incredible experience in all.
Again, I apologize for the blurriness I was internally screaming when I saw this and only managed to get one picture which sucks, but what can you do. Just have to work with what you got.
Next stop on our list was to go and see the Roman Forum. Seeing all of these Roman temples and government buildings was worth being alive for.
Coming to an end with our very long, but adventure-worthy day we went to visit our last spot that we saved last for the best. The iconic ancient Roman arena, the Colosseum. Seeing the Colosseum in movies was so interesting and it intrigued me to go and see it in person. But when I actually went and walked through the Colosseum, the feeling was so surreal. It was amazing.
If you reached it to the end, I want to say a huge thank you to you friend. Thank you for reading and joining in on my first of many journeys that I will have.
