Me and Rain Drop made our way further east and into Kentucky to the Red river. We managed to explore the Sheltowee trace trail a little but the state parks are not only closed but a lot of it is blocked off.
We were not really supposed to be in here but I wasn't leaving without a few pictures for you guys here on Steemit. So Rain and I stealth camped out in the Red River Gorge for two days and slipped out and continued to go east.
I have really enjoyed Kentucky so far and the landscape is beautiful and the people are very nice here too. We are not far from the border of West Virginia and I feel like I have missed a lot of good things to see in Kentucky, so I might look into finding a trail heading in a different direction and stay for a while longer just for the photo opportunities.
Rain is very happy to be back in the Appalachian areas, that is where she is from after all. I am excited to be back here to it even smells like home to me and after the long trip out west I didn't realize how much I missed the Appalachian mountains.
We have been hit with a lot of rain this spring and ever sunny day we get is a big deal to us. We have had to spend a few days in the tent because of the weather but it is always worth it to me and Rain Drop to keep the adventure alive.
We are probably about 50 or so miles away from West Virginia and I am hoping to get the opportunity to get more pictures here in Kentucky before we go to the Allegany trail and head out. Things are going good for me and Rain even though I have been working with about half of the funds from sponsors since the corona virus came along, but we don't give up and I will always find away to take care of the two of us.
