Discovering Australia: A german guy downunder (Part 3)

Hello beloved Steemians,

Finally I made it back here! At first I want to apologize for my absence - Due to the fact that I am studying and working both at a time (because unfortunately I can't make a living of my Steemit posts (yet ;-))) I've just had a very stressful time that did not give me the chance of creating posts here to let you knowmore about my Australia-Trip.

But since I made it back and I have a little more time now, you can look forward to (at least!) one post a week about that awesome trip to that beautiful country.

When I arrived at Sydney Main Station in the early morning, it did not take me long to figure out the position of my already chosen and booked hostel. It was not more than 200 metres away. Even though the staff was very friendly, I could not enter my room yet - as i expected. I was able to leave my backpack in a closed room and after I received a city map at the reception I started to make my way towards - that was the question, where should I head to. I chose to have breakfast first and bought myself cookies and a drink in a Coles-Shop. Perfect diet though!
After that I chose to do the same "Free guided City Tour" I did in Melbourne, because the next one was about to start in about half an hour nearby. During that tour I got to know two guys from Hamburg, who just arrived in Australia a day before. After the tour we decided to explore the city together -

And we have seen some (internationally) quiet unpopular things like this overgrown building,

or this freaky bird who was just one of dozens in the park

but as well we have visited some very popular spots like the Queen's dog (that actually can speak)

this wild boar (that brings you luck when you touch it's balls)

and of course Sydney's most famous landmark(s) - Harbour Bridge & Opera House

The presence of this giant cruise ship during my stay there just reinforced the wonderful impression of this famous place!

It was one of the Hamburg Guys' birthday the day after, so we celebrated on the rooftop terace of our hostel - with a nice view around sydney from the 11th floor. Drinking goon, cheap wine and eating Domino's-Pizza.

On my last day in the City I've had many things planned, starting with a trip to famous Bondi Beach with a short bus travel of 30 minutes. In the early morning it was not that full there but with every minute ten people seemed to arrive while none left. The look of this beach was quiet perfect anyway:

After hours of relaxing, swimming and having the most expensive Mc Donalds burger (I don't know why the price is different in every single Mc D) i took my way back to Sydney to buy and write some postcards. Including the stamps I spent almost 40 $ on this oldschool method of texting beloved people back home. And the worst is, that 3 of those did not even reach their destination...

After writing those cards I walked through the CBD a bit, took a few photos and visited the place of the hostage taking in the Lindt Chocolate Cafe. There were still some flowers and the walls of the subway station showed pictures of how it looked like when this attack has just happened - where tons of flowers lay all around the square.

In the evening I went to the cinema with some guys I met in my hostel kitchen the day before, and we watched the new Hobbit in 3D - for 27$. Definetely the most expensive cinema visit I ever made, but this movie was worth the money. After the cinema we went to have a steak in a bar, which was a secret advise from one of the staff members in the hostel - and with a price of 12 Dollars we were more than satisfied with this meal (especially when you compare it to the typical costs of food):

We made our way back through the city slowly, enjoying the fresh night air, but my next night bus left at 1 am so I finally went to pack my stuff, say goodbye to those I've met and turned my back to the city of Sydney. Heading towards Byron Bay. Going up north!
