Camping in Laguna Verde, Sierra Nevada - Venezuela #English

   One of the most beautiful and fabulous places to which I have had the opportunity to camp, in an ascent of almost 3000 mts, from the station of guardaparque of the mocuy, a climb a little complicated in some stretches, from slight risk to extreme. Laguna verde is a lagoon formed hydrologically by the glaciers of the crowns of the Bompland and Humbolt 2 peak of the highest peaks of Venezuela and the Andean mountain range Venezolana.

 You can make the ascent in a couple of days or one depending on the physical conditions of those who go, I manage to do it in 1 day on my second chance. the altitude is always a factor for the breath and the advance to the place of camping the green lagoon

   Laguna verde is located above 4000 mts 4100 m.s.n.m the last stretch to reach the is a very rocky gorge, quite dangerous for inexperienced and you must have equipment such as ropes and harness to cross with greater safety. When camping also with tent at least 3 stations, good sleeping bags and insulation for cold, plus winter clothing. and a good footwear that does not allow the entrance of water to the interior, and of course a lot of determination to achieve the objective

   Temperatures drop to very low degrees in this area, snowfalls in winter time are common here, the water temperature is icy, The vegetation is of few species, it is composed mainly of herbs like the frailejones. It has very spectacular views and you can from there reach several peaks of the sierra nevada.

   In our ascent we managed to camp at about 5 o'clock at night, which made it difficult for us to spend more time sharing with each other, and we had to lock ourselves in our tents at a very early hour, however the next day we were able to enjoy the area and its beautiful landscapes. the awesome truth and be very in love with them.
