I was at ease. The sun was shining, the brisk breeze was howling, and there were absolutely zero distractions. We rented 50cc scooters (since we didn’t have our international driver’s licenses) and drove across the entire island of sifnos- one of the Cyclades’ hidden treasures. A travel tip to take forth from this lesson is to do your research ahead of time! If you want to rent scooters, a car, or the like, double check the host country’s policy regarding renting motor vehicles. It’s likely you will need an international drivers license to rent and ride.

The spot was tranquil, peaceful, and surprisingly unknown. We were one of a few groups of people in the cove, but I surely wasn’t complaining. I’d rather have a beach to myself than fight for towel space to layout and soak up the rays. Surely it would be different during the high (tourist) season- July and August. This was May, so the vacancy of the cove kinda makes sense. But who knows, maybe this was one of those lost cause places that no one knows too much about.

take me back to my natural habitat !!
