Boat Parade in Washington DC 2017

in travel •  7 years ago

Last week we had this big event in Washington DC - Boat Parade of Lights which occurs every year before Christmas. This year they added a new location for the sailing the boats and yachts, Washington Channel. This new location for all locals and tourists was build for the past years and opened just 2 months ago, it's called the Wharf, full of new restaurants, shops and new apartment complexes. It's a walking distance from National Mall, about 30-40mins. There is also a nice Boardwalk and the Pier where you can observe the whole parade. It was a nice event with life music, spiced wine, champagne, hot chocolate, marshmallows and fire pits. It was a nice and friendly atmosphere at the Wharf.

Here are couple pictures of decorated boats and yachts. This one was nominated as Best Sailboat - Wisp - Captain Tim Fontana.

This one got nomination Most Spiritual Crew - Letter of Marque - Captain Walter Weiss.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
