Dear Steemians,
I hope this letter finds you well, my adventures in Ibiza have come to an end as have Amsterdam, while Dublin has just begun. Due to the whirlwind that was my short trip and TinyPic having a shit storm of a time uploading my Pics, I am just not able to get to writing to you properly, so I have broken up my letters to read easier and to do my experiences and memories justice.
Zoo Project –
My “morning” of zoo project started around 3 in the afternoon as our first night out in the west end lasted a bit longer than I had intended, it is amazing how the city finds ways to breathe new life into you. So there I was getting up, groggy and not at all that certain of what I was getting myself into. I had bought the “full package” from Pretty Intricate. You can definitely get a better deal from Ibiza Spotlight. I bought the package straight from PI’s main site only to find they used PayPal and PayPal is utter shit with conversion charges.
The package includes:
2 hour pre party all you can drink.
Get face chest and arm painted like any animal you could want.
Transport to and from Zoo project.
Luckily I ran into a couple of promo girls who were kind enough to walk me to Vivas which is the bar/meet spot for San Ant location. The pre party is where you get a glimpse of things to come from the stag and hen parties to people being absolutely piss drunk by 5pm. Once 6 rolls around everyone gathers up and is escorted through the west end and to the party bus which you will most likely share with another paint party.
Once you arrive it’s kind of surreal that you are going into an abandoned zoo to party. Metal Creatures adorn the walk are from entrance to main stage:
All around it’s a very beautiful place. The pool is an old seal habitat. The Main Stage is just in the walk way, I have no idea what the living room or mandala garden once where. Now I’m going to be completely honest here, the music being played in the living room was not at all what I’m about but I did snap a couple shots:
The main stage also couldn’t keep my attention, not for lack of trying the Dj’s performing were good. I wasn’t screaming “train wreck” like I often do at some of the more known clubs in America. This could easily just be that my shift in musical tastes has made jungle house and deep house some of the worst music in the world to me. It’s more likely that the tracks were just basic and only came off as obvious choices.
Now, Mandala Garden, somehow just absolutely drew me in. I got up and walked around a bit talked to some people including a deep argument about the future of humanity. Every time was right back there. The set up they have with performers, tarot, massages, live visuals and a totem sitting in the middle, frankly, it clicked for me. I finally fully interacted during their opening ceremony which is a mix of music, guided meditation and dancing.
The DJ; Peach Aroo was energetic, kept his arrangements together, and even fought through what sounded like a left speaker on its way out. For some that might not seem like high praise, but if you have been around as long as I have; it is. I’ve watched dj’s that charge 250k throw tantrums like a 3 year old over the wrong drink being mixed let alone faulty equipment.
His sets took me from sitting on the side lines to inching closer and closer to the middle circle they have:
With the fantastic performers, other participants, and boom there I was in the middle taking pictures bobbing my head, moving my feet and genuinely really enjoying myself. His closing set is what did it for me, not a single person in that area seemed out of place, everyone was dancing, just smiling. I can’t suggest this enough, get the fuck over yourself and stay at this spot the whole time.

I too have never enjoyed the music at Zoo Project.
