How to introduce yourself in Portuguese!

Hi steemians! Olá steemians! :) Today you will learn how to introduce yourself in Portuguese. Don't forget that steemfest is right there, and nothing better than learning some portuguese phrases and words to talk with the portuguese people, and make some new friends! ehehehh So let's go :)

• There are 3 different phrases to introduce your name in Portuguese:

1. Olá! O meu nome é Cristiana
Hello! My name is Cristiana

2. Olá! Eu chamo-me Cristiana
Hello! My name is Cristiana

3. Olá! Eu sou a Cristiana
Hello! I am Cristiana

• If you want to continue the conversation you could make this question (Formal and Informal):

1. E você? (Formal)
And you?

1. E tu? (Informal)
And you?

• If you want to know the name of the other person you ask (two different ways to ask, and both have formal and informal forms):

1. Qual é o teu nome? (Informal)
What's your name?

1. Qual é o seu nome? (Formal)
What's your name?

2. Como te chamas? (Informal)
What's your name?

2. Como se chama? (Formal)
What's your name?

• If you want to tell where you are from or where you are live in or ask the other person, you say:

Eu sou de Portugal
I come from Portugal

Eu vivo em Vila Real
I live in Vila Real

De onde és? (Informal)
Where are you from?

De onde você é? (Formal)
Where are you from?

Onde vives/moras? (Informal)
Where do you live?

Onde vive/mora? (Formal)
Where do you live?

• If you want to end the conversation and thank you for meeting this person, you say:

Muito prazer em conhecer-te! (Informal)
Nice to meet you!

Muito prazer em conhecê-la(lo)! (Formal) la- feminino; lo- masculino
Nice to meet you!

O prazer é todo meu!
The pleasure is mine!

• Let's make a conversation with the phrases that you learn today:

Olá! Eu sou a Cristiana e tu? Como te chamas?
Olá Cristiana! Eu sou o Pedro.
De onde és?
Eu sou de Portugal. E tu?
Eu sou de Inglaterra.
E onde vives?
Eu vivo em Vila Real. E tu?
