When I was in Japan, experienced two type bathrooms/toilets.
First was toilet was separated and shower with small bath was like from ships, plastic lining. Looked like separated box, just putted there.
Second was all together, open type shower and toilet in corner, so to get to the toilet, you should go through shower. Not very nice once there someone have showered and all was wet.
Those smart toilets rocked :D
