Showering In Nature: My Obsession With Oregon Waterfalls

in travel •  7 years ago

Water you waiting for? Dive right in!

Good day everyone. On my travels to Oregon over the years I have had the opportunity to see some real natural beauty. One aspect of natural beauty Oregon has its fair share of are waterfalls. All over the state you can find waterfalls, large and small, hidden or open. Once I visited 95 foot tall Tumalo Falls near Bend Oregon, I was hooked.

If I'm not getting wet, I feel like a fish out of water. So I always make it a mission to feel the water these falls send cascading down to the ground. If accessible, its often a very dangerous game; algae growing on the rocks can be very slippery. One wrong move and you can be sent down the falls to your doom. Sometimes the lower portion of the falls is inaccessible, due to a large pool of water or in the case of Tumalo falls, off limits. Now I am not usually one to break the rules but I cant help myself in the case of these natural wonders. Often the water is very cold but the exhilarating rush that accompanies it is bliss.

Along with Tumalo Falls, I had the opportunity to visit Gold and Silver Falls near the Coos Bay coast and these hidden gems were simply breathtaking.

And as usual, I jumped right in, getting a first hand feeling of that cool Oregon water.

The lower portion of Golden Falls was more technical to get to and didnt have flowing water to which I could stand under.

Its a dream of mine to visit the numerous other waterfalls Oregon has to offer, and you know me, shower in their nature. I hope you enjoyed this short post on my obsession with Oregon waterfalls and if your ever in that part of the world, check them out! Thank you all and Steem on!
