Hi steemit users. Tonight's Daily Nature Fix is going to feature black and white photos; something I don't do all that often. These were all taken in Ireland and Northern Ireland last year. Though we had some nice weather on a few days of the trip, the usual overcast and rainy conditions seemed like this trip would lend itself nicely to the whole black and white idea. Now, I'm aware these aren't exactly 'nature' photos, but I like to change things up from time to time. Let's get to the pics!
^^^Here is a circa 1700's church that has been restored and turned into a cool house. It was actually where we stayed one night as the current owners set it up as an Air B&B. This was one of our favorites stays, along with one that was in a 600 year old cottage.
^^^Here is the Gleninagh Holy Well. As you can see, the rocks and stonework were all painted white and there was a big ole concrete crucifix above the thing. Inside the well, there were all kinds of statues of Mary, Jesus, and some other fellas.
^^^Looking at this photo now, it's not a great one... I just really like the doorway. lol These ruins were some of the oldest we saw on the trip. There are tax records of this church existing in 1302, but it may be even older.
^^^This tree look really cool against the old stone wall. Interestingly enough, beyond the wall in this photo is the ocean, though it looks like a sprawling field in black and white.
^^^This is just a close-up of some of intricate, decorative woodworking that can be found all throughout the Kylemore Abbey. The abbey before it was an abbey was just a massive mansion/castle built buy a rich Irish guy by the name of Mitchell Henry in the late 1800's. It's a 40,000 square foot structure and some of highest roof peaks reach 142 tall.
Good job, I liked the post, very good photos, you have my vote, greetings! :D i am a photographer of landscapes, look at my profile and I hope you enjoy

I really enjoyed your photos and especially as they are in black and white - I think it portraits the age old history so much better than colour would.
Amazing how things are still standing today.
