Nomadic Nuggets! A Gothic Well. (Original Photos)

Hey guys. Sneaking in a post before bed. This little nugget of joy come from County Clare in Ireland. Driving down a pretty long and uneventful stretch of road, we suddenly came across this tiny castle looking thing:

Needless to say, we slammed on the brakes and turned around to check it out. Turns out this Irish gem was built in the 1860's and covers a little spring that supplies a lot of the water for surrounding population. I believe it's called "the Pinnacle well" and is listed as a holy well on a lot of the websites and stuff. Doesn't really clarify who blessed it, or which saint.. but whateve's.

Here's the head-on view once we looped around to snoop around. Pretty cool architecture for such a tiny building. Though we saw a pretty good amount of castles and ruins, this little one stood out in it's own way.

The small sign on the inside was pretty clear on purpose of the building. Sure hope no one confuses this thing for a roadside outhouse!

That would be bad if some one did use it as a roadside outhouse.

Nice find!

If it were an outhouse, it would be a very luxurious one for its time.

This is very ancient building ,and still look like 20 years old building

It is hilariously funny, though. Probably unintended, but still.
