Warning Label in Ireland Pub: "Don't get into drunken fist fights" lol

in travel •  7 years ago

Hi guys.  I was looking through my photos to try and figure out what to post tomorrow and I found this little tidbit that made me laugh.  I figured I'd make a quick post to share it with you all.  It was our first day in Ireland and we were walking around Dublin in the evening.  We ended up getting pretty hungry so we found a little pub nearby with a decent menu.  The beverage coasters immediately caught our attention:

Nooooowwwwwww, I'm not one to stereotype a group of people, but with this one of the first thing I read after sitting down in an Irish pub really made me laugh; especially because it was a serious PSA.  lol  Fortunately, we don't drink, no fists were thrown, and it was a nice meal that night.  🙂

I am laughing with you, lol!

It sure seems like they don't take themselves too seriously.

For sure. I must say, all the people we met were very cool.

Good advice.

I was never in Irland but i thought getting in fistfits in a bar was half the experience ;-)

I thought the same thing! Like a part of the heritage.

what kind of world we are living in, if even sterotypes let you down ;-)

Did you keep the coaster as a souvenir?

No! And I'm so bummed out about it. We thought about it later, when we got back to our B&B.

The picture will probably last a lot longer than the piece of pressed paper.

I find it curious that friends aren't mentioned on that sign. Glad to see you put only your pictures. How's Ireland? I've never been there before.

Ireland was great. Driving was a bit stressful at time. Mainly because of the super narrow roads in the back country and older towns, but also because it was tough getting used to driving on the right side of the car and left side of the road.

Complete agree. It is best for everybody.

I wouldn't have believed this came from an Irish pub had there not been a picture.

On a more serious note, it is right that one bad fight for everything to end up messing up one's life.

For sure. I don't care for alcohol anyway.... and even less for violent drunks.

I'll be going to Ireland in a couple weeks and am set on finding this coaster.

Grab one for me, if you find it! I'll gladly pay shipping costs. lol

HAHA this is so funny!
