Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @sk-russell:

Chko pálava, wildlife sanctuary in mikulov. A fantastic area to explore and enjoy. I found trails really well sign posted and maintained. The ruins and views were beautiful! Nice walk in a beautiful nature, blooming red and white cherry trees all around and smelling lilacs in the air.

Mikulov is a town in southern Moravia on the border with Austria. It was founded at the beginning of the 12th century since 1410 was promoted to the city. It has an estimated 7400 inhabitants and the city center is a conservation area.

What an awesome town Mikulov is. I was there for the first time ever last year but for sure I am coming back there. An awesome image as well! What a great entry for today's contest. Have a great day. Tomas

I was there after 20 years and I also plan to return to it again as soon as possible.

Pruhonicky zamek
The current appearance of the Castle dates to the late 19th century. The South Wing, also known as the Little Castle, was built on the structure of a former brewery which used to be connected to an adjacent church via a small conservatory, rebuilt into a dwelling in 1928.

I think the best is normally found in the capital cities. I know this statement is arguable but partially true.
This shot was made in the capital city of czech republic, prague. I really like how the lanes are paved in this city.

Old Town Square.jpg

The Old Town Hall is a complex of several ancient houses in the Old Town Square, Prague. The houses were connected one by one to a single unit for the purpose of administration of the Old Town of Prague.

český krumlov,
Lots to explore and to do. Myriad of shopping, dining and bar hopping opportunities. The river winding through the town is a special treat.
The downside is the throngs of day trippers who show up by the bus load. And they all seem to have the all important selfie stick. At times it’s very much an asian gauntlet.

House of the Suicide and House of the Mother of the Suicide

Walking along the promenade bearing the name of one of the greatest Czech artists of the 19th century, Mikolas Alesha (Alšovo nábřeží), just opposite Rudolfinum I discovered another unusual installation. The first impression is "hedgehogs in the fog". The association with the famous Soviet cartoonist Yuri Norshtein was caused by what he saw: on a small "bald" patch between green lawns, two SOMETHING-reddish-rusty and silvery-matte-pointed their bayonets in the sky. And the red "hedgehog" pierced his needles strictly vertically, but silvery - in all directions, in some incomprehensibly excited state. Approaching the seen (still can not find sane words for the designation of objects), I considered the table with an explanation, they say, it is a memorial of Jan Palach called "Dům syna. Dům matky. " Later in the book I read that this memorable place was opened on Saturday, January 16, 2016, in honor of the 47th anniversary of the self-immolation of a student of Palach, commited on January 16, 1969, in protest against the entry of troops of the Warsaw Pact into Czechoslovakia. Separately from the "hedgehogs" on the bare ground - a memorable square quasi-board with lines from the poem of the American writer David Shapiro "Funeral of Jan Palach". The author of the sculptural composition is the sculptor John Hayduk. While searching for IT in this year, he learned that in 1991 the above-mentioned master made a similar wooden installation, which was marked in the courtyard of the Prague Castle, where it safely stood until 2000 and was dismantled. And now, 16 years later, the monument returned to the Czech capital. I will not express my point of view about the aesthetics and the influence of the architectonic forms of the memorial on consciousness - such things either are accepted unconditionally, or do not accept at all, IMHO. The silver monument is the House of the Son, it symbolizes the very Jan Palach. Dark - the grieving mother of the deceased. In order to understand the essence of what I saw, I will allow myself to quote a passage from the speech of the parish priest Yakub Troyan at the coffin of the young man: "In this cynicism of the century, this man led us to ask ourselves:" What have I done for others, what do I seek, what do I serve and what is the most valuable to me? "...

The Strahov Monastery (Strahovský klášter) is located in Strahov district, in Prague. It is a Premonstratensian abbey founded in 1143. In 1950 was taken over by the communist regime until 1989 when, with the fall of the comunist regime, the monastery was returned to the Premonstratensian Order.

CZ, Kourim Church of St Stephen4.jpg

Front view of the spectacular Saint Stephen Church, located in Kourim, Czech Republic. It has an octogonal platform and is covered with a lierne vault with a single pillar.

It is really awesome place. The colourful mosaic of arid rock grass looks fantastic.

Wow! The photo selected by you is absolutely amazing. The overall effect is ethereal!

Is it the Czech Republic or the paradise of the world? I'm happy about your country!
