View of the Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture. The basilica is located at the Vysehrad fortress in Prague, Czech Republic. Founded in the 11th century, it is one of the most famous and important churches in Prague. Source: Shutterstock, author: Catarina Belova

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words. I will then go through your submissions and upvote those that meet the requirements. Let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

I am really happy to see more and more great photos being submitted to this challenge every day. Yesterday was no exception, we had several awesome entries featured in the photo challenge, including this amazing image taken by our regular contributor @jpphotograpy with the following description:

I read your travel tip about Karlstejn Castle yesterday. It really is a nice place to visit, I actually went there on a day trip while visiting Prague last year. The history of the castle is amazing and so is it's architecture!

Night photo of Prague. There you can see the Castle and Charles Bridge (one of the two most famous landmarks of this beautiful city) and their reflections on the Vltava River.

Part of the Strahov Monastery, an extensive Premonstrate abbey located in Strahov, Prague. Founded as early as in 1143, the monastery houses a huge library, art galleries and art collections and even a small basilica. I took this image on a grey winter day in January 2015.

This is winner of the survey "The most beautiful castle of the Czech Republic" with my bestie. This charming chateau is located in small town Hradec nad Moravicí near the Opava city. The castle was built in the Gothic style.

Vila Helenka located in Prague's district Smíchov (Na Václavce str. 1078/30). The Vila Helenka was designed and built in 1903 by the architect Alois Korda for his own use. It's an outstanding example of Art Nouveau sgraffito. As for decoration it is especially interesting an angel with large golden wings on the side facade and sundial in the form of sun on the front facade.

I started to travel quite a long time, about 15 years ago. The Czech Republic was one of the first countries I came to. Copters were not invented yet. The only way to look at some place from above was the observation deck. And I regularly tried to visit all the observation platforms. It's very exciting to look down on the city. All this looks like an amazing toy.
I still do not miss an opportunity to climb a tower or a mountain.

Prague panorama
Unfortunately gluing the panoramas is not my strong point)

That's a lovely view of the Old town square and an amazing picture!

Sedlec, a suburb of Kutná Hora is home to the The Sedlac Ossuary. It houses between 40000 and 70000 skeletons arranged in all sort of amazing formations - including an incredible chandelier. Visiting is a little creepy, but it's worth the short trek out of Prague.

Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic by population and area, and the historical capital city of the Margraviate of Moravia.

This photo was taken from Špilberk Castle and beautiful Brno is obscured by clouds (Pink Floyd reference again :) ).

Center square of the old town in Prague. There were Christmas market shops all throughout the square and a giant lit up Christmas tree in the center under the castle looking building. The architecture throughout the old city was incredible as the detail on each building was superb.

This one is from Ještěd.
This picture was made last winter when there were tons of snow on Ještěd. And there was one day that sky was clear blue so it was really amazing time to go skiing. There were lot of people on Ještěd, but I was so lucky that my friend took this shoot without anybody behind me.

In the heart of the city, where a monastery used to be, standing now the biggest and grandest shopping mall in the city center. The Czech Republic is known as a liberal atheist nation that doesn't need so much space for religious buildings, took the big old monastery and converted it to a temple of the new religion = shopping!

My hotel is just infront of the shoping mall.

This photo shows you the tower of the ancient Strekov Castle in Usti nad Labem. We visited the ruins of the castle in the early morning, so we avoided the tourist groups and enjoyed the wonderful golden morning sun undisturbed.

Thank you for featuring my photo from yesterday :) For today I've got this photo:

View on Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov was my second stop in the Czech Republic after I had visited Prague. The small medieval town is the second most visited place in the Czech Republic right after Prague, but even the tourists flocking in cannot hide the charm of this beautiful town.

I chose this picture today not really for the beauty of it (it's difficult to take good picture there because it's dark) but to tell you about this bar. This is Vzorkovna but everybody calls it the Dog Bar because there is a huge dog wandering in the bar. This bar is probably completely different from what you know. It's in a basement (not rare in Prague) with several rooms. Each room is different: one with fusbal (there was a tournament the day I took the picture), one with wooden benches that go up to the ceiling and a big one with a stage where artist can come and play like they want. As you can see there are tags everywhere and it seems that there is no rules but the atmosphere is really great. Another particular thing is that you put money on a wristband at the entrance and then you pay with it.
If you have time during your stay in Prague, go check it out!

Wonderfull post.

Captured three wonders of Prague in one Frame during an evening stroll. Prague Castle on the top right, Saint Nicholas Bell Tower on top Left and Charles Bridge in center . There is a different calmness on this bridge during the night. One can enjoy a peaceful walk around here and the cool breeze flowing across the Vltava river which happens to be the longest river in the Czech republic.

Klášter sv. Jiří at Praha castle. A former benedictine monastery with two towers.

It was rebuild and enlarged from the original building. You can find it at eastern side of praha castle komplex. Ccc-Klášter sv. Jiří at praha castle.jpeg

If you walk around St Vitus Cathedral in Prague you'll see all sorts of interesting doors and details. This is the detail I captured on one of its doors. You can see the parts that people touch most when 'investigating' the detail. ;)

Sharing a picture taken at night. After dinner if we still have energy from our morning travels, we will go out to take night shots when we travel. Prague from memory was very quiet at night and taking our night strolls was very pleasant. The things you see during the day gives a different vibe during the night.
