@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

The spectacular view from the top of Roy's Peak on New Zealand's south island. It's 1400meters up from the car park just a few miles outside of Wanaka. I was up there for sunset and was the only person staying in the freezing November winds. It was great to have such a view for myself :-)

I'll preface this with saying I have a terrible sense of direction. I took this photo in the old medina of Tangier, Morocco. The winding streets go up and down throughout the medina and I (and my colleague) got lost looking for a particular store. But in our very long walk throughout the medina, I had the chance to take photos like this. And eventually we found the store!

Quiver Trees at Dawn, Namibia

My first day in Namibia did not disappoint. I traveled with a group of photographers to the Quiver Forest, a place for which the photographs had not prepared me.

The Quiver Forest is actually privately-owned land — the Guriganus Farm — and the “trees” which make up this otherworldly forest are not actually trees at all, but plants. Their fibrous trunks are easy to hollow out and were once widely used as quivers for arrows.

This is a beautiful shot.

It looks like a drawing, (from surrealism maybe?) :D especially if this aren't the trees

Absolutely stunning image and entry! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Another shot from the top of cruise ship while travelling up the Nile from Luxor to Aswan.
Stunning colourful sunrise and you cans see air balloons rising up (probably with a tourist to see The Valley of the Kings from the top

Enjoy the scenery :)

The lion, king of the savanah. Male lions are easily recognized by their manes.
We saw him during our trip through Botswana.
What an impressive animal. He was very relaxed and not scared at all.

One of the big five at a close-up! Great job. Tomas

This is a photo of the Victoria Falls (locally called "Mosi-oa-Tunya" meaning “smoke that thunders") at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, taken from a helicopter. These are seen as the world's biggest waterfalls and one of African's natural wonders. For me an absolute highlight of my Southern African tour!

What a view! Thank you for this wonderful shot. Tomas

A true Berber

Our guide to the Sahara was a Berber who had been born in the desert. He moved to the city to study, but he later went back as he said he missed it too much. I can understand why. The tranquility of the desert is not easy to find anywhere else.

Thank you so much for your submission. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming shortly. Tomas

We all know who is king in animal’s world – lion! When I was young I watched animated movie – The Lion King, and from then on I always wanted to see this majestic animal in their natural habitat. My wish came true in 2015, while traveling in Namibia on our first safari day in Etosha NP.
Hope you like my photo of the king.

Another picture from my travels to Uganda. This time it's the Zebras. I took this picture of a mother and cub duo standing in tall grass while we were in the middle of our walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park. Standing so close to them was such a thrilling experience. One I'll never forget.

Great pic! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us here on Steemit. Tomas

Thank you. You're always welcome. :)

Here's my entry for today:

lakeatlas.jpg

I travelled about 40 kilometers from the city of Marrakesh to this beautiful place to see the sunrise. I have to admit the atmosphere here was quite serene. I wandered around a bit and found this perfect spot where the view was simply amazing. With the sun rising, I grabbed my camera and took this photo of the lake with the majestic Atlas Mountains in the background.

Location: Lalla Takerkoust Lake, Morocco

Beautiful place and picture!

Hi! A warm welcome to Steemit and to my challenge. You have made a great entrance with this stunning picture. Looking forward seeing more from you. Tomas

Thank you so much for organizing the competition. Happy that you guys liked my picture.

Tanzanian Sunset
We were out in the bush camped with nothing but tents and a few maasai standing guard. We were told lions were prevalent in the area and that it was dangerous to wander past the perimeter of our camp, especially at night. I was a part of a health care team providing basic services to tribe's people far from the beaten path. I had only been in Africa a few weeks, and most of it was training within the comfortable walls of our compound. This was our first real experience. I had traveled before, but never with the ability to meet a need. It was such a new feeling to be welcomed in as an outsider. The maasai who guarded us were willing, they had even prepared two of their goats and passed their fermented milk drink freely. This sunset was the beginning of new adventure.

We loaded into a local bedouin's off-road vehicle and headed out on a 3 day journey through the Sahara Desert. As we left the only highway leading out, it only took us the first few meters before we were greeted by this scene. We exited the car and stood in awe of the beauty, the enormous sand colored domes, and pure white chalk formations seen down below. This was the most amazing trip I have ever been on: camping on mats under the stars without anyone around besides the 3 of us. No lights, sounds... no anything. Just the gentle wind and open skies.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #20

I waited and anticipated this day when you get to post a picture of anywhere in Africa ,i'm so happy to be sharing this with you right now.
I Took this picture with my Mobile camera ,i hope i get to buy a digital camera very soon to improve my works..
This is a place very close to my house infact i took picture right through my window..
The land is deserted ,the owner bought it for the past 4years and has not been able to start something on it..
However the 2 storey building you are seeing behind the deserted land has been like that for the past 35years ,it was built by a very wealthy man back in the 90's he died since then the uncompleted building has then been passed from one person to another as inheritance..It seems there is a curse on both the land and the Building.
So below ,my viewers is the SO CALLED CURSED land and BUILDING...
Enjoy the view

These photos are of global standards, they can fit into any photography exhibition any where. Kudos of the content creators. This is the very idea behind the creation of Steemit platform.

Thank you so much! I do agree with you 100% on the creation of the platform! We can do so many wonderful things with it. Have a good one. Tomas

This photo is taken from Volubilis (Oualili), the marvelous Roman city of Morocco. Volubilis was the capital of the Roman-Berber kingdom of Mauretania (the ancient Maghreb) and one of the majestic cities in North Africa before it fell into ruins with the fall of the Roman Empire and becomes a World Heritage Site.

This is Zembra Island in Tunisia. I was lucky to be in the right time in the right place and take this lovely photo. I was in a village nearby for some hours and had nice time there in the nature.

In the Red Sea, next to the coast of Africa, there is a place that has gathered several flooded ships at once. It so happened that on the way out of the Guba Strait there is a coral reef. Captains relaxed after the passage of the Suez Canal crashed into it. Sometimes the cause is weather, sometimes fatigue, sometimes alkagol. But in the course of many years shipwrecks occur one after another.

Many ships with divers leave Hurghada and swim there to look at this reef. But not only drowned iron attracts people. The ships become the home of the most diverse inhabitants of the sea. Such as this giant moray eels.

Red sea guard

Beautiful. The colors look stunning.
