Hello fellow Steemians!

I am starting the week #29 of my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge and we are back to the continent of Asia.

If you like to participate, place your personal image from your travels in Asia in the comment section below with a short 30 to 50 word description. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total. So far I have given out thousands of dollars in upvotes and hundreds of SBD in rewards.

Thailand is the second largest exporter of rice in the world. One estimate says 16 million Thai people earn their living as rice farmers. I took this photo when I visited Chiang Mai last October and had the chance to see some rice fields up close. The lush tropical green in this part of the world is simply stunning to me.

Chiang Mai is a very nice area. The colors of this photo are typical of northern Thailand. I like these rice fields and have dried rice spouts in my flat at home in Austria.

What a great entry with some interesting information! Thank you Matt.

Sunrise at Mt. Rinjani (3,726 meters or 12,224 ft). This is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Mt. Agung - the highest volcano on Bali island, which recently erupted - is visible on the back-right. All three of the Gili Islands can be seen before it. On the left side in the clouds the perfect cone shape of Rinjani is visible. The picture was taken the end of August 2017 and the trekking of the volcano was the highlight of my journey in Indonesia.

What a fabulous entry! Thank you so much for that. Tomas

Thank you!

Congratulation for the climb of Mt. Rinjani, and the reward was this great view and this unique photo.

I agree. The climbing was hard but after the sun started rising I totally forgot about the cold and the wind :)

A misty sunrise over Mt Everest, also known as Chomolungma or Sagarmatha, towering above at a massive 8,848 metres (29,029 ft). The summit of Mt Everest has less then 33% of the oxygen available at sea level. The highest mountain on earth, Mt Everest is in the Mahalangur Range of the Himalayas and sits on the international border between China (Tibet Autonomous Region) and Nepal.

Wow! Truly stunning!

Sharjah is the third largest and third most populous city in the United Arab Emirates, forming part of the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. It is located along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula.

The city is a centre for culture and industry, and alone contributes 7.4% of the GDP of the United Arab Emirates. The city covers an approximate area of 235 km² and has a population of over 800,000 (2008).

Have spent there half day back this January and was really lucky to get such a bloody colourful sunset at the end of the day

There are many fresh water lakes in Nepal with breathtaking scenery of landscape and mountain ranges. But Gosaikunda is special because it is very sacred place for Hindu devotees for it's religious significance as mentioned in many Hindu Holy Books.

Fabulous image! Stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

This is the charm of sunset at Lhoknga beach, Aceh Province, Indonesia. This beach is a favorite place to see the sunset, and also the ocean is directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean. Inside this photo object, I shot two tourist silhouettes taking pictures against the background of the sunset.

When I was in Petra Jordan, on our 2nd day I got to snap this photo looking down on the Treasury. On the first day we didn't make it this far due to torrential rain which caused the canyon to flood. It only happens once a year apparently, I felt like Indiana Jones on this awesome adventure ☺

Thank you kindly for your entry and sharing this awesome place with all of us. It sure is on the list of places I want to visit one day. Tomas

My photo was taken in a place called Sea level 0, which is a prominent Palestinian territory near Jericho. This place you can not miss if you are going from Jerusalem to the dead sea. From this point you will continue to fall several hundred meters of altitude then you see a Sea.

Thank you so much for your continued contribution and this wonderful entry!

Lake Baikal, Siberia

I made the trip to Baikal in winter. It’s the most treacherous season on the lake, but also the most beautiful. When it freezes, Baikal doesn’t turn white. Instead it turns a deep, glassy blue, streaked with cracks and fissures like inclusions in a gemstone.

Baikal-2.jpg

wow, very impressive photo. i would love to see this in winter too. Please tell me at which month you have taken this photo. What's the best time to see this. Thank you

By the side of the Bagmati River there is a temple named Pashupatinath. This is a holy place and also a very old Hindu temple where the dead are still traditionally consumed by the fire till nothing left of them.

click on the image to see it full screen

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal.

Actually, Bagmati is also our holy river with its own Hindu mythology.

That's really cool, I must say I did thought that was stories about the river but I didn't took the time to searched about it. Would you know a good site where I could read about this mythology and the river?

Unfortunately, I can't provide the links. The history is written in our sacred book which only priest and pandit can read. That's why its difficult that this thing has not been writen in website. But you can read about its geography here:

The calmest of the 3 islands! It's good to live on Meno, beautiful beaches, turquoise water and wonderful snorkelling spots. It reigns an absolute calm and resting, pleasant after a few days on Trawangan! In summary the best of 3 Gili :)...I would like to offer you this beautiful sunset which has ended the swing.

Gili Meno Beach-Indonesia

I totally agree that this is the best of the three. I like your picture :) Agung is visible also :)

This was snapped in the Wadi Rum desert of Jordan. We spent the day 4wheel driving across the desert and this is when we stopped to take some photos ontop of a sand dune. I love the contrast of our tyre tracks with the sand that was untouched, the sun flare was an added bonus :)

This beach is the most liked by foreign tourists who want to play beach surf also has a white sand beach clean lips are still green trees.the beachfront atmosphere is crowded in kujungi by domestic and overseas tourism especially surfing tour games that come to beach kuala cut lhoknga is usually on the east because the waves in the ocean is perfect for surfing games. For tourists from abroad this beach is no stranger to hear it. Beach Kuala cut Lhoknga Aceh Besar

This place is Baga beach is located in North Goa. Baga Beach is a popular tourist attraction of Goa.
This beach is entertaining from sunrise to sunset. As the sun sets down, party mode is switched-on around this beach. A former hippie hideaway, Baga Beach is famous for its beach shacks and the delicious sea food that is offered there. The night life at Baga is even more exciting than its days.

Wonderful shot @anoopsingh

Hello this is my entry for the contest. The photo as been taken in cambodia in bayon temple. This faces carved in the stone are so peaceful that they almost feel alive this is such a strange feeling.PSX_20180407_230135_wm.jpg

I am sharing this shot from the Yangminshan National Park just next to Taipei in Taiwan. It's a great place for a day hike from Taipei - it's very easy to reach there by bus, car, or scooter and the scenery is really beautiful. There's a volcano right under it, some places have sulphur coming out, you can enjoy hot spring, or go look at flowers.

This is another picture from my home country Pakistan it is such a wonderful place with natural beauties everywhere. This is the view from the Chitra district near its airport.

Pashupatinath temple is a sacred temple of Hinduism religion. This temple is located in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. This temple is also listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. The story behind the establishment of Pashupatinath is a great and interesting mythology and it's existence dates back to 400 B.C. It is built in Nepalese pagoda style of architecture.

The story of this photo is very interesting to me. But not only the story, even the colors of the photo, the blue und yellow bright is very impressive. An exceptionally beautiful picture.

Thank you so much @travelingmom mam. I appreciate your comment.

This place is Starry sky over Leh city in Ladakh, India. A wonderful experience! A breath-taking ride from Leh.This is no mere 'camp site'. The tents are well constructed, off the ground, and complete with private bathrooms, warm quilts, and comfortable cots. Sitting high above the Indus, it is truly a breath of fresh air after working in Leh.

The Ala-Archa State Natural Park is located 41 km from Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) on the northern slope of the Kyrgyz ridge at an altitude of 1600-4860 m.

The name Ala Archa is translated as "Variegated Archa". Archa is a Turkic name for various species of large tree-like junipers.

It was taken in Pohang, South Korea. This place is famous for this hand sculpture. Actually there are 2 hands in this place. One is a right hand built on ocean and the other one is a left hand built on land. In other words, the 2 hands are ONE work. But most people don't know about the hand on land. At last, Look at the tips of fingers. Birds are sitting on them. Thanks for hosting this contest. :)

P.s.Please check it on computer or laptop. The whole picture is not shown on my phone.

These are the sea gypsies selling their fresh catch to the locals on the island of Mabul, Borneo. Also known as Bajau, the sea gypsies have been seafaring people for most of their history, sailing in the Coral Triangle between islands of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, casing good weather conditions. Because of this lifestyle, they don't have a nationality or rights in any country.

You probably recognize one of the most prestigious hotels in the world, Burj Al Arab on the right side. What is even nicer in my opinion is vicinity with Souk Madinat Jumeirah and its canal. I was most impressed by this part of Dubai, even thou all Dubai is spectacular!
Hope you will enjoy in classical Arabic architectural mixed with modern touch…

This is rickshaw in Kathmandu in Nepal. I took this photo last year before Annapurna Circuit Trek. After noisy and dirty city, mountains where great place to rest. Some people love Kathmandu, because it's full of life all the time and some people want to escape from this city as soon as possible as far as they can.
