Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total. This "TAREK PUKAT" activity is still attached to traditional Aceh fishermen who catch fish in the sea using "PUKAT" Even this tradition is still active in working by the fishermen in Indonesia in particular. this activity is usually done in the morning and afternoon, and some even do at night. for the Indonesian people, catching fish in this way is an activity that is still a traditional choice.

This is a photo from my October 2017 visit to Hong Kong. I’m such a big fan of this city because it’s so modern with sleek, giant skyscrapers. But, it retains and respects its traditional history as well. Add in the natural beauty of mountains and water and you have a world class city.

Yangtze Cruise
A special experience to be on a small cruise ship with 296 Chinese people and an older couple from the Philippians. People look at you like your are from a different planet! They smile at you at the dinner table because you look stupid when you eat with chop sticks;) The 4 day cruise upstream offered a very close perspective on the Three Gorgeous Dam project and what it meant/means for the people and environment. I'm happy that we treat our planet with respect in most parts of the world. China has a long way to go... :(

OMG amazing shoot

Splendid!

The beaten paths often lead us to amazing monuments and surprising landscapes. But when we think we have been completely stunned by these singular scenes in the east and we deviate a little bit from the usual routes, here are other surprises that remind us that we have not seen anything yet!

Nice post

Thank you.

Truly awesome entry!

Thanks. Scene not so common.

I was lucky to be witness of this amazing sunset during my last year year’s travel in Indonesia. It was at the end of our trip, when we were cruising with boat at Rinca, Komodo NP, Padar. Unforgettable experience where you have a feeling that you are at the end of the world.

Beautiful sunset

I saw three sunsets in Komodo this year and all of them were stunning!

Perfect place for sunsets :)

What a fabulous sunset. Thank you for lightening up our days.

Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur's Batu Caves are one of the most amazing temples I have been to: Not only is the entrance to the cave temple guarded by a giant statue that overlooks the city, the cave temples are also home to thousands of bats and dozens of monkeys!

1/125s; 35mm; f/6.3; ISO 100

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

How high is it??? Incredible.

43m according to Wikipedia ;)

Holy crap that thing is huge. This would be amazing to see in person. Awesome shot!

The view from the top of the stairs is amazing as well :) Thanks for your comment!

That looks like a pretty interesting place to visit. Great to know more about it through your entry. Tomas

It's an amazing place to visit! :)

This is one of the landscapes which are not easy to forget, the last stop on a 4 day motorbike tour of doing the Hagiang Loop in Northern Vietnam. The town was called Du Gia and I got up super early to capture this.

Thank you, I'm happy it came across in the picture.

Tourist destination beach lhok seudu "Aceh Besar, Indonesia" no doubt about the beauty and feel of the beach. The beach is about 30 kilometers from the city of "Banda Aceh" is one of the most visited tourist attractions of local and Asian tourists. The beach is only 10 kilometers from the highway is very beautiful when the sun sets. Even some time ago there was a sailing ship belonging to foreign citizens who are enjoying the beauty of this Lhokseudu beach.

One of the fishing villages in Banda Aceh precisely in Syiah Kuala which every day fishermen make a living by looking for fish at sea using a boat. A very relaxing place to enjoy the beautiful sunset in Banda Aceh while looking at the activities of fishermen coming home from the sea and collecting fish for sale.

Wow, that is fabulous!

Thank you @czechglobalhosts 🙏

First morning of vacation in Marmaris. Turkey few years ago. Haven't really got known yet about nearby coastline locations, so just was shot from the balcony of hotel room.. Though Marmaris is actually situated on a seaside, it doesn't have direct sea view from the main city. There are still some hills, but somehow they are making the scenery maybe even more interesting combined with perfect sunrise colours

Enjoy it :)

While traveling in Indonesia, I had the chance to spend a night in a volcano's crater. Mount Kawah Igen is well know for its blue flammes that you can see during the night after climbing to the top of the volcano... This really is something to see!

Baiturrahman Mosque Banda Aceh is a mosque of Acehnese pride built in the time of the young Sultan Iskandar and has been a silent witness of history from the colonial period to the disaster of the earthquake and tsunami of Aceh in 2004. As time goes by the Baiturrahman highway mosque has been several times renovated but does not eliminate the hallmark of its magnificent architecture.

Wht a fantastic shot! Truly awesome.

Thank a lot brother @czechglobalhosts

So did anyone remember to show some love to Maldives - the smallest Asian country ? :) Maldives are widely know from the "Island resorts" - pretty expensive tourist destinations where one person/night starts from $1k. For the last few years Maldives have opened up for "regular" tourists, with several hotels built on local islands - disrupting the local life but also giving a chance for work to those who were not lucky enough to work in a resort. Ok so here we go - the least original Maldivian photo :)

IMG_20160321_083435.jpg

I have always wanted to stay at one of the resorts where the room is on the water like this. It was be so awesome.

Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Indonesia, this mosque was built during the kingdom of aceh long ago. the mosque is also a destination for local and foreign tourists, because the mosque is so beautiful and many historical values.

Sunset in Karuizawa, Japan. After a snowstorm in Japan, the city was covered by thicked snow. There were not many tourists in winter as most of the shops are closed. But what I love is the feeling of serenity and peacefulness.

Cappadocia is one of the most amazing places I visited last year. I spent a week there as part of my two weeks journey in Turkey. There are a lot of activities and areas to be seen. So, if anyone is planning a visit, give yourself sufficient amount of time. It is a magical place (:.

I wonder why are they called "chimneys" and not "asparagus"?

maybe they haven't seen an asparagus when they were thinking of a way to name them (:

A number of traditional fishermen tidied the fishing nets or commonly called in Aceh under the name of "Pukat Darat" net on Gampong Jawa beach, Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Pukat Darat is part of the daily life of fishermen around the village of Gampong Jawa, to catch fish manually, and Pukat Darat is also part of the culture and traditions of the people of Aceh that still exist today.

Pulling the net is a culture that shows the spirit of togetherness that has existed before.
This is also a tradition to be maintained.
Nets that reach 40 meters long make the inhabitants of Gampong Jawa Village depend on the hope to find fish in this sea, which is 4 km from downtown Banda Aceh.

The 3 giant gods

Deep in the forest, there is an old city guarded by hundreds of giant gods made of rocks. Still guarding the southern gate of Angkor Thom centuries after its fall, the gods have faced many battles against thieves, riots and time itself. All of this left them with many scars but they keep standing there as protectors of the fallen city.

The harbor for fishing boats located at the end of the city banda aceh is one of the collection and auction of fish catches fishermen. In this port there is also a fish canning factory for export and import. This photo I took in the village lampulo banda aceh. I am walking towards this harbor I see the beautiful sunset of this greatest fishing port in the province of Aceh every day fishing boats are always there who stop to unload the results of fishing for three months at sea.

Banda Aceh is the capital of Aceh, located in the western part of the Indonesian island of sumatera.
With the "Great Mosque of Baiturrahman" as its city icon.
In addition to the Baiturrahman Great Mosque, the capital of Aceh is also famous for its traditional fishing activities, such as the traditional fishing activities of this one "Tarek Pukat" a Traditional fishing activity of Banda Aceh people during the afternoon, on the coast of Banda Aceh city, which uses nets, in Kampung Jawa.
and here the sunset process is an object that is always served for the visitors

Here's a different angle for a golden hour photo, this one was taken flying into the Philippines just before sunset not so long ago. The thick black cloud on the right created beautiful light rays below it.

Frozen Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is one of the most evocative places in the country. Perhaps this is one of the oldest lakes in the world. An enormous lake formed by the shifting of tectonic plates, Baikal’s blue depths contain roughly one-fifth of the world’s fresh surface water. And in winter it is even more beatiful when in summer.

Baikal-7.jpg

Your Lake Baikal photos are awesome. Makes me want to visit there (but maybe in the summer). You get an upvote @ansharphoto and a follow! Thanks.

Nice share

Sunrise at Borobudur in Java, Indonesia. The main advantage of the more expensive sunrise ticket is, that the temple is less crowded. We went there by ourselves with scooter. Most of the tourists come with a guided tour, as soon as they leave you can explore the temple on your own.

That would such an amazing sight to see as the sun comes up. Great shot.

Thank you

Not only temples and shrines can be fond in Japan's old capital. Also many splendid garden like Ryoan-ji, which actually connects to some Buddhist compound. Feel the like and the awakening, another days always starts with another morning.

Peace! Love and Respect!

Amazing

This place is a place to grow rice, we here call it with rice fields, rice fields are a place of survival of farmers to grow crops. I took this picture in Indonesia, Aceh. Precisely in Nisam Village. When I took this picture by accident it was the 2-month-old rice season to see rice is very fertile and waiting for the harvest. Here's what my picture looks like in the asian entry. Thanks.

At the top of the pass, this monument, built by the Soviets to celebrate the success of man over nature through building of this high road through the high mountains is still a place of worship. Note the items that more recent travelers left to say thanks for making it to the top here (>4000 m above sea level). A beautiful place and the little boy gave me a thumbs up for the photo (i.e. approval). Traveling opens our minds...

Lang Co Beach - Hue, Vietnam
Lang Co Beach in Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam is one of the most beautiful beach in my country, also in Asia. In here, we have long white sand beach, with deep blue of water, green of mountain and sky. This photo was taken in Hai Van Pass which is divider of Thua Thien Hue and Danang City, two best cities in middle Vietnam. Visiting here, tourist can experienced the life of fisherman, also there are many attracting activities like canoeing, surfing, paragliding, etc. Especially, comparing to other famous beaches in Asia, the price of everything in Lang Co beach is so cheap. It is the place you should write on your travel note.
Best.

One of my favorite places in my Asian travels was Vang Vieng in Laos. Located just outside the small touristy area is the Blue Lagoon. A place where you can relax and go for a dip to cool down from the sweltering heat. There is also a massive cave just up the hill from here so if you're feeling adventurous bring a torch and go explore the massive cave system

This is my first entry into one of your contests! This picture was taken in Bangkok, Thailand, during our Thai New Year celebrations which we call Songkran festival. I snapped this shot alongside the Chao Phraya river, during Songkran festival people buy a wreath decorated with flowers, leaves and small trinkets and once the candle is lit, it is pushed out into the river. This picture shares one couple's moment as they say their final prayers/wishes and are just about to release it into the water. Have a nice day :)

This picture is from Taba in Egypt. Egypt is African country, but this small village is located in Sinai, so belongs to Asian continent. I took this just after sunset and you can see in the background mountains of Jordan.

Love the image

Thank you :)

Sharing the photo that I was able to capture from our adventure at Five Fingers, Mariveles Bataan, Philippines. It was a hot day that day. We were on a boat as we were going from one cove to another. On our way to another cove, we saw this fisherman in the middle of the sea, under the striking heat of the sun, trying to endure the heat just to be able to get some catch and be able to bring home something for his family. Fishing is one of the main source of income of the people of Mariveles, Bataan. It's such a humbling experience for me to see this. ❤

This is the west side of Sapporo cityscape. In the middle is the JR Hakodate railway. On the far right hand side is Mt. Teine, which covered in snow. At the front left, we have Mt. Muineband Mt. Sankaku. I love the scenery as the city is surrounded by snow mountains.

This path can be found in Japan's largest graveyard Oku-no-in on Mount Koya. You can actually spend the night here, together with the monks in a temple. We found the idea to overnight on a graveyard a little too spooky, though...

56_Mount_Koya_Oku_No_In_Graveyard (1).JPG

This picture was made in march 2012 in a suburb of Shanghai. My friends and i have been exploring the area and in some smaller alley i saw this a bit bizarre scene. As far as i can tell, this barber has all his equipment packed on his bicycle and a simple chair on the street is his shop.
I really like the Picture because of the single things happen in the picture. In front of course the barber with his customer But there is also a happy family passing by. And my favorite is the suspicious guy leaving the scene in the background. I hope you like it as much as i do.

The atmosphere of Baiturrahman Mosque in Banda Aceh at dawn is very different from day or night. The blue sky looks very beautiful from the eastern horizon, where the sun rises. Although this protective umbrella is closed at night, this wide open space is a gathering place for people from all over the world, even at night when the place is filled with people who visit or even rest.
