Hello fellow Steemians!

I am starting the week #59 of my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge and we are back to the continent of Asia.

If you like to participate, place your personal image from your travels in Asia in the comment section below with a short 30 to 50 word description. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total. So far I have given out thousands of dollars in upvotes and hundreds of SBD in rewards.

The island located on the Indonesian border is the island of Sabang. This small island saves a million natural beauty. A stunning beach, and underwater beauty that makes this island very crowded with foreign tourists. A photo that I took on the Ujoeng beach kareung at sunrise some time ago on Sabang island.

Houhai Lake Beijing China
Houhai Lake is surrounded by restaurants and bars. We had a classic beijing dinner at this floating restaurant on the lake. The lotus plants all light up around the tables on the lake was an awesome way to set the ambience for dinner.

crazy colours on that one! cool shot!

Cheers mate👍

Cheers to you!

Siem Reap, Cambodia's second-largest city, is the country's tourist hotspot number one for only one reason - its proximity to the ancient temple city of Angkor. Nevertheless, there are some other nice photo spots, like this bridge and the wonderful temple in the city centre that you can see in the background.

The Temple of Nai Harn

While we stayed on Phuket in Thailand I passed this Temple almost daily. In the early morning, when it was calm, you could see these nice reflections on the Nai Harn Lake. One morning I was lucky enough to got my camera with me.

Temple of Heaven
The famous Temple of Heaven is located in Bejing and was built to pray for a good harvest in spring time. The colours and the design of the roof were very impressive.

Rocks in Taroko Gorge, Taiwan

Taroko Gorge in Eastern Taiwan features not only an impressive Gorge, but also a hike to these interesting rock formations. They might look like paintings, but are actually natural! I had a great day exploring the national park on a scooter.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

I clearly remember this day because It was my birthday. I was sitting on the beach with a glass of beer and watching the sunset .. on the beach called Bingin.. which is known for a big waves and hazardous reef. Although the waves are limited to advanced surfers, the beach gets crowded especially on the weekends and it’s a great view to watch all surfers playing with waves... but sunsets are very calm.

It was a long time since I participated in Asian Sunday as I was usually more or less offline through the weekends. This weekend is different so I am sharing a photo of young orangutan in his natural habitat. I was privileged to go on trekking on Sumatra last year.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Twilight Zone

And again, taken deep from the archives this time from Autumn 2013, a stunning colorful sunset at the beach of Turkey, nearby Alanya. Again, while one week vacations there, shot just at the beach territory of the hotel.
Very nice twilight colors here, a bit of long exposure and a hotel's pier far away to improve composition

Enjoy the scenery!

In my last day in Cappadocia region, we had a few hours to spend before the flight to Istambul, so we decided to visit Lake Tuz, a salt flat nearby. I admit, the photos look slightly better than reality; but the light effect is amazing, blurring the horizon, so we almost can't distinguish where the lake stops and the horizon begins. Here, one of my travel buddies socializing in the middle of the flat.

Xi'an City Wall
Xi'an is famous for the Terracotta Warriors. But in my opinion the City Wall is the secret highlight of this city. A round tour is about 14 km long and you can rent bikes to circle around or just walk depending on the temperatures :P They play quite traditional music and you kind of escape from the hectic city life. We really enjoyed the visit on the wall. The city was was also one of the first protected old building in China!

I took this photo at the Forbidden City in Beijing. This image corresponds to Guan Yin or Kuan-Yin (and in Sanskrit Avalokiteśvara). It is Bodhisattva of compassion and in the west it is known as the Goddess of compassion. It has many hands and in each arm have a different object: flowers, rosaries, spears, swords, etc.

The reason of the multiple arms is due to the following legend: Avalokiteśvara proposed to free all human beings from suffering, realizing the colossal task for the great number of people. He despaired and his head broke into several pieces. When the Buddha Amitabha knew about this situation, he collected the pieces and reassembling them. Thus forming a body with many arms. In this way Avalokiteśvara can work to release suffering to many people, simultaneously.

I explained more about this story in this post (in Spanish).

Hello @czechglobalhosts... this is my first nomination for your contest for Asian sunday. I'm @yo-yo from Japan, I generally take photos for my work for recording some craftsman work, but also love shooting while traveling, walking around and so on.

This foto was taken in Showa-village, Fukushima pref. This is very small village and the population is only 1300. This is the festival only 1 day in the middle of August for praying everyone's health and good harvest . This area is well known with rice field and tasty rice, so the greens of this photo is with rice field. I'm not so sure this is the right way to participate in your contest or not, but I wish I could keep trying to join in your community... to enjoy sharing and having fun to communicate with everyone here :-) Thank you very much for reading.

I also write about it in my post today :-)

Uji, Japan

I went to Uji in Japan yesterday, it's famous for the production of matcha, green tea.

The other thing that it is famous for are its temples and shrine. This is the Phoenix Hall and is part of a 10th century buddhist temple. I got here early in the morning when it wasn't too busy, and managed to take a lot of great shots with the reflection of the hall in the lake.

This is a part of Matsuyama castle, inaugurated in 1603. The fortified walls are impressive, and it is cool to walk around it. The castle itself is very interesting as well, we learn a lot about the history of the city.

Central Asia mountains

The mountains of Central Asia are the highest on Earth. But people have also lived here for eons. Can you see the yurt in the distance? A beautiful day before the snows started to fall...

Ko Larn, Thailand
I took this picture yesterday on my weekend trip to Ko Larn, a small Island in Chonburi province Thailand. The sunset was not really spectacular on that day so I tryed out a different style of the small sea- house u see in the imagine.

waoo....! so nice job...are you ever do photo-shoot in India?
