7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #10 - the absolute winner takes 150 SBD!

in travel •  7 years ago

Hello fellow steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 150 SBD! Today you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to a continent of Australia. I am also adding a New Zealand to the same challenge as there were some concerns from other steemians to which continent will NZ go to.

Your entries need to be submitted by the midnight of Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only one picture to be submitted for a daily photo challenge. The rule number one is to use only personal images. Ten winning photos will receive an upvote from me from which I will pick one winner that will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts.

The winner of daily challenge then competes against winners from other continental challenges of the respective week to receive the price of 15 SBD. That will be decided by you based on the dollar value of upvotes of my winning post announcement. The winning weekly picture then automatically enters other rounds for the price of 150 SBD in total.

Please see the Asian Sunday winner and give him support by upvoting his winner announcement post if you like his image to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge:

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #10 - winner announcement!

@aurumv Asian Sunday entry:

The photo is taken during trekking in Ladakh region in Himalayas. Those nice carved stones are written prayers. Everyone seen colorful flags in Himalaya those are also prayers. But flags are temporal... short life. So if you want the God to find you pray, you have to make it long lasting. Stone is the best material for this.
Try to imagine the difficulty of making this and even more how hard it was to deliver high to the mountains. It was found in about 4500m height.

Milford Sound is one of the top 10 locations in New Zealand. Most people take a boat tour and enjoy the scenery. Always bring mosquito repellent because of the sandflies!
This image was taken on our way back to Queenstown.

Hiking or kayaking, you need to choose how you want to explore the beauty of nature in Abel Tasman Park in New Zealand. But you will be rewarded with plenty of amazing places on your back in and out of the park. The sea is always close and splendid beaches are just a stone throw away..

Stunning image, thank you so much for your entry!

On the way to Mount Cook. To get from the camp to the Hooker Lake there is one hour trail each way, that we went 2 times just to take a dip in icy cold water. Along the trail the scenery was beautiful, but just around the corner the majestic Mount Cook presented itself.

Simply stunning.

During my one-month trip to Australia, I went to see family in Canberra. That day we spent it at Pebbly Beach. On this beach a kangaroo mother had taken up residence. Visibly known to everyone and very sociable. Unlike kangaroos who always maintain a safe distance of 10 to 20 meters with us. This one let us approach her. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of his child when he was not hidden in the belly of his mother.

Fabulous! This is Australia:) Thank you so much for your entry. Stay tuned for the winner announcement. Tomas

Hi Tomas aise the result and your good choice :) Thanks for your comment about my picture :)

Enigmatic Queensland

As my sister and I went on with our roadtrip across Queensland, I always had the thought of how different Australia is. I have always thought of the country to be empty and just hot weather. Oh boy, was I wrong. The weather was not even hot in this part of Australia. We would wake up early in the cold morning chasing sunrise. Coming from a tropical weathee background, I was not use to the weather below 10 degree celcius. Here is one of those days that the fog was taking over the landscape.

Thank you so much for you fabulous submission!

I took this picture when we went to the Hunter Valley for a weekend getaway. the Hunter Valley is approx 2hrs drive from Sydney and the area has great wine and food. There are vineyards everywhere and this is just one of many.

Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island, Australia

Whitehaven Beach is known for its white sands. It has a beautiful scenery and the sand consists of 98% pure silica which gives it a bright white color.
Unlike regular sand, the sand on Whitehaven Beach does not retain heat making it comfortable to walk barefoot on a hot day. This sand is also very fine, and can damage mobilephones and cameras, so be careful. :)

What a beautiful image! I love it!

Chilling in Sydney's botanic gardens under the blue sky. Enjoying this view of the bridge crossing the harbour and looking at these white clouds floating in the air while life is still going on on the other side of this wonderful park.

Stunning entry. Thank you so much for your participation. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement. Tomas

Thank you Thomas, I'll stay tuned for the announcement, and surely be there for more entry in the future.

Slipping sands - a very interesting spot in Moreton Bay where the steep slopes of the sandbanks juts into the water. A popular spot for sand tobogganing with a splash and a hidden gem for those who know how to navigate to it.

Welcome to the challenge. Thank you so much for your submission. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming out soon. Tomas

@czechglobalhosts - I am not much of a photographer but I guess it is good not to just showcase the typical tourist destinations and instead reveal a little bit of the places that you don't get to see featured on tourist magazines and travel websites. I really like the challenge and glad I can participate along with all the other great people on steemit :)

Sunset in Patenga Sea Beach,Chittagong,Bangladesh.I've Captured the photo by Mobile Phone Camera.

"At the exact point her finger had indicated, the moon lifted a forehead of stunning gold above the horizon, lifted straight out of filigreed, light-intoxicated clouds that lay on the skyline in attendant veils.

Behind us, the sun was setting in a simultaneous congruent withdrawal and the river turned to flame in a quiet duel of gold....The new gold of moon astonishing and ascendant, he depleted gold of sunset extinguishing itself in the long westward slide, it was the old dance of days, the breathtaking death of days before the eyes of children, until the sun vanished, its final signature a ribbon of bullion strung across the tops of water oaks."

Thank you for your image which is great. However, your entry is way over 50 words so I will not consider it to go further. I hope to see you back again. Have a great day. Thank you for understanding. Tomas

Thank you for your entry. Nevertheless it is missing a description of 30 to 50 words which is a basic requirement of the competition. Thank you for understanding. Tomas

Hi Tomas, is that correct to submit in comment? I don't see in your post where the submission will be. Many thanks for your answer.

Yes, that is correct but I see you figured it out already! Thank you so much for your entry. I will pick the winner tomorrow morning. Tomas
