7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #25 – winner announcement!

@photofreediver Asian Sunday entry:

When I participated in an expedition on on the island of Sakhalin, the bay "Silent" which is in 150 kilometers to the north of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk became one of points of our travel. It has appeared the amazing place with the mountains, improbable on beauty, entirely covered with the juicy-green woods and the tender ocean washing the sandy coast. Absolute paradise for fans of quiet rest with tents, for fishermen and of course for photographers!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #25 – winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

So here is another entry from beautiful Australia again. This one is a view I found near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. There are many viewpoints in the area, the most popular being the Three Sisters view. But if you wander along the extensive network of trails along the rim you can also find beautiful views like this, which you will have for yourself.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #25 – winner announcement!

@narchuk Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans entry:

It was an amazing meeting in the Andaman Sea. Our group dived first and we were lucky to see one manta ray. But the current in that place was so strong that we spent all the air for about 20 minutes. As a result, we came to the surface at the same time when the second group just descended. And we managed to quickly change the tanks and dive a second time. The second dive was long and calm. This lasted about an hour. And at the very end, when we were about to emerge, I saw two manta rays in the depths. All I needed was for a quick dive and only 3 photos. Then I had to come up. It's amazing that no one else saw these manta rays. As if I imagined them)

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #25 – winner announcement!

@fjorenca African Wednesday entry:

When one thinks of the desert, images of yellow rolling sand dunes come to mind. The White Desert of Egypt is nothing like that. This unique scenery of tan and chalk-white landscape is dotted with alien shapes, boulders of brilliant white which thrust up from the surface of the desert. We camped in this dramatic landscape left by an ancient ocean, far far away from civilization.

One of my favorite parts of visiting Europe are the beautiful train stations everywhere. This is the Antwerp-Central Railway Station in Belgium. It took 10 years to build between 1895 and 1905. The incredibly tall height of the station was necessary originally because of the steam generated by locomotive engines. It turns out it wasn't just me taken by this station. Newsweek magazine named it the 4th greatest train station in the world in 2009 while Mashable magazine named it the most beautiful in 2014!

Saint Stephen Basilica in the Morning, Budapest

Ecclesiastical buildings are almost always breathtaking, and this one is no exception. A large, intricate mosaic marks the entry to the basilica (it’s so beautiful that I decided to make it the focus of the shot), and the building’s interior is magisterial. The monumental size of the basilica is really only apparent from the inside, where various marbles and precious stones shimmer in candlelight.

Europe-2.jpg

The colors are so awesome in this picture. The bluish and purple hues of the sky against the building and the glow of the lights look amazing.

What an incredible image!

Today I could not decide for a long time where to put the photo)

Once in all the time I got to the Czech Republic, when the fields blossomed. I did not even know that it happens. We went by bus on an excursion to Krumlov. And then everything suddenly turned yellow in the window. Fantastic sight. I was ready to think up anything just so that the bus stopped. Fortunately in a couple of minutes we stopped at the gas station. And I immediately ran to the fields. The weather also played along. Clouds, coming rain. And the sun ...
Chez blooming

Without even looking at the description I was thinking to myself that this looks like home:)....

When I traveled in Greenland on a sailing yacht, I met a lot of icebergs. But each of them was so unique and incomprehensible to the previous ones that I thought out each of them a name. Here is the iceberg, which I photographed against the background of the brightly rising dawn sky, I called the CHARITY OF GODS.

That sky is amazing. Great capture! I am always excited to see your photos.

Wow! Those colors are incredible!

Hi Tomas, Matthias here, Steemit newbie :-) I'm a photographer and digital artist from Germany. This is my submission for your photo challenge: Vik Church with a wonderful bright green mountain landscape, one of my favorite places in Iceland. I visited the land of fire and ice three times and can't wait to go there again. Iceland is a dream for every photographer :-)

I hope I did everything right with my submission. Looking forward participating in some of your other contests :-)

Sunset in Tubingen

Click image to view in full screen

We have been walking the streets of Tubingen, Germany with our friends when they showed me this spot on the Neckar Bridge. It was about the sunset, and the sun was setting down behind the buildings. The sky that day was mostly overclouded, but there was a small chance to have a break in the sunset. We have been on the spot just in time to set the camera and make a decision on the subject. I had about 5 minutes window when the setting sun lit the clouds through the break, and I take several shots when this boat appeared and completed the scene.

Absolutely stunning!

Thank you!

An unknown, unnamed series of waterfalls in the eastern part of Iceland that caught the light just the right way as we drove by and turned it into a vision of fantasy and magic.

IMGP1262-3.jpg

@derekkind, this is an absolutely breathtaking photograph. It takes you to another realm, it is amazing.

Thank you! The place felt so surreal that I processed it in a way that showed how I felt when I was there - there was something magical about it - and it was such a random spot, just off the highway!

Wow, great shot! I want to go to Iceland soon, it looks spectacular on every picture I see :)

Thank you, Annika! I think you should visit Iceland. :)

Another epic image of yours! Well done!

Thank you! :)

As soon as very cold weather stayed for quite a while, have decided also to visit nearby small city Palanga (mostly rest city) with a famous sightseeing bridge, which goes to the sea some hundred meters. Counting it will have nice ice formations as well

https://steemit.com/mypictureday/@axeman/mypictureday-submission-the-frozen-coast

Simply beautiful!

This is called Voringfossen (spelled Vøringsfossen in Norwegian) Waterfall. It's not the biggest or tallest at only 145 meters and a total fall of 182 meters. It's actually two waterfalls converging into one on the river below which eventually form the canyon. I've seen plenty of waterfalls around the world but this is on the top of my list. It's like stuff made out of fantasy novel!

Today´s submissions are just insane! And this is one of them. Great job.

Hi Tomas, this is my submission for your photo challenge today: Edinburgh Castle is an ancient fortress erected on a rock of volcanic origin located in the center of the city of Edinburgh. It is located at the top of Castlehill Street, one of the four streets that form the Royal Mile. The castle is open to visitors and is managed by Historic Scotland. It is the most visited tourist attraction in Scotland. Three of its sides are protected by steep cliffs, and access to the castle is limited to a steeply sloping street on the eastern side of the castle.

Spectacular! Than you so much for your contribution. Tomas

Maybe the sky could be more blue, maybe fog could me more blured, but I'm trying to show the real world around me. This picture was made in Chocholowska Valley in Tatra Mountains (Poland), the place with many memories for me.

Thanks ever so much for your fabulous entry and contribution!

Thank yoo for your vote :) there is difficult to be noticed among other pictures from whole Europe ;)

The view from Bled Castle in Slovenia, I loved the misty mountains and the snowy topped mountains, so peaceful!

I took this photo in Podgora that is located in the Split-Dalmatia County of Croatia. We went on a boat trip to the nearby islands Brac and Hvar. During the trip I saw these beautiful mountains!
IMG_0570test.jpg

DSC04965_processed_resized.jpg

We were walking along the Lauterbrunnen Valley, Switzerland on one cold winter morning. Because of the mountains around, the sun cannot be seen and everything is very misty and covered with slow. As we walked along we noticed this large snowfield with a house in the background. My wife started walking towards it and as she walked I created this shot. I think it captures the cold and the loneliness of winter very well.

Herzogstuhl
This is the "Herzogstuhl", a tower-house in the middle of the woods of germany. It was built by Herzog Ernst II. in 1916.
I really enjoyed exploring this magical place. The house has a little wooden drawbridge and some really nice looking detailed stone carvings above the main entrance. In front of the house there is a stone bridge and stone stairs leading to a small square with a big lime tree and a fireplace.
Herzogstuhl.jpg

Captured this in Cumbria on my trip to Britain last year and a beautiful view it was, felt like time had stopped and was just glaring into this view for a long time. One of the most amazing places to visit.

These three geese were actually following me as I walked along the Galärvarvsvägen in the island of Djurgården in Stockholm. There's a lot to see and do on this island but my favourite two activities are the beautiful Vasamuseet (with the world's only preserved 17th century ship kept INDOORS) and the fantastic open-air Skansen museum. Of course, walking around the island itself and experiencing the fresh air is fantastic in itself.

The name of the place in the photo is Covão da Ametade and is located in the heart of the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela. It's an eco-campsite which lies in a valley among the highest mountains of mainland Portugal. It's also located in one of the largest glacial valleys in all Europe - The Zêzere Glacier Valley.

Beautifull!!! I would like to see Serra da Estrela some day!!!

Views of the Swiss Alps from Piz Gloria. This was an incredible place, one of the single most amazing locations I have ever visited in my world travels. Sitting 2970 meters above sea level, this station provides 360 degree views from the top of the world. As you could imagine it was freezing at the top but luckily I was more than ready and able to stay warm. There is a revolving restaurant on the top too if you are interested in dining there but I was just there for the views.

antaliyah antalya turquia.jpg

This photo is a part of Antalya Turkey, in a perfect mountain where the view was diminished by the haze, this mountain is used for the practice of an extreme sport and it is not mountaineering, it is the high-line.
This is walking on a rope for a considerable height. congratulation for 8000 followers

This is an awesome picture, very moody. Do you use any safety harnesses or anything when you practice the high-line?

I know I can´t compare with other photos as they were taken in more exotic places. I just want you to show in such amazing city I live and it´s not so far from Czech Republic. This photo was taken in Košice which is the second largest city in Slovakia. You can see one of our most famous monument called Dóm Sv. Alžbety located in the city center. And no one who has ever visited this city could overlook this monument cause it´s majesty and picturesque😊

Photo of the Palm House/Green House in the Schönbrunn Palace in Viena, Austria, taken during the autumn. This palace was the summer residence of emperors of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The gardens of this palace are very beautiful, this palm house is located there.

Hungria basilica.png

This photo is in Hungary, where we find the beautiful Cathedral of San Adalberto in Esztergom, this is one of the largest architectural works of this country, it is observed many very spectacular religious works, for the native people of this country is one of the most important and most visited churches for their religious ceremonies.

The Louvres Museum view from the inside. The infamous glass pyramid used as an entrance to this magnificent museum captured widely to give this architectural effect. Silhouettes and piece of the old building are visible from underground if you look up to the sky.

Location: Paris, France.

One of many beautiful places in Plitvice Lakes National park, situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia. The national park is famous for its lakes arranged in cascades with various distinctive colors and many waterfalls.

Good afternoon Tomas, Here is a picture of the sky in Ireland contrasted with a frame of roofs, no matter where you are in the world you always enjoy a sunset and a sunrise. that magical moment is enjoyed. the skies are different on all continents, this is very good

Hi Tomas, here's my entry ;)

It's a small mountain lake in Upper Austria.
My parents are living in the town next to it, so I know this place since I'm a kid. You can walk around the lake in about 1 hour, It's great to swim while looking at the breathtaking mountain scenery!

Hi there!!! The fallowing is a panorama landscap i took a few years ago in La Playa del Ingles,San Bartolome de Tirajana, Gran Canaria,Spain !!! You can admire the beautiful Faro de Maspalomas!!! Thanks!!

Walking along a local hiking path in a town called Perl in Germany we encountered many beautiful sights and even nicer people. When our small group was getting ready to take a break in a small wine tavern we were presented one of the nicest scenery that I have ever seen personnel.
So that is how this image came to be.

One of my favorite photos of the Plitvic Lakes in Croatia. Now a days it is very crowded, but I've seen it while it was a lot less. Make sure to early and bring a tripod and there's no need to be a good photographer. The photo's almost make themselves.

So good!

GREAT ONE CHALLENGE....

This is a photo of London. In the back you can see Saint Paul's Cathedral. It is the seat of the Bishop of London and the mother church of the Diocese of London. I took this photo from a balcony at the Tate Modern museum on the other side of the river. I suggest visiting both places, the cathedral and the museum. Both are quite nice!
