7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #27 – winner announcement!

@justdentist Asian Sunday entry:

Cormorant Fisherman in China. Here is one of my favorite photos from our trip to China last year. I also featured it in my "Faces of China" post. If you take part in Tomas, aka @czechglobalhosts, contest for a longer period of time, you'll might have seen some photos of the fisherman. After being a fisherman for several decades he now mainly works in the tourist industry as a model. I guess it's kind of a win-win-situation for him and tourists like us. He's wearing his traditional outfit. Once in a lifetime experience! Have a great week everybody.

@bluebottlefilms Australian Monday entry:

This photo is from Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The island is commonly called "Rotto" in Australia, we tend to abbreviate everything over here. It's a beautiful island that is protected and famous for it's healthy population of quokkas.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #27 – winner announcement!

@narchuk Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Sunset in the sea can have another meaning. When not only the sun but you yourself plunges into the water. The sky on the surface explodes with bright clouds. And the underwater world is completely transformed. The daily inhabitants hide and fall asleep. They are replaced by nocturnal creatures. All this process is not long at all. Less than an hour is required for nature to completely change over to another state. If I succeed, I always try to spend this time in or near water. Especially if it's as nice and warm as the Philippines. Of all the places where I was, there are some of the most beautiful sunsets.

As I was posting this for Thursday Green's Color Challenge I realized it would also work as a European Thursday submission. I took this photo in Geneva, Switzerland a few years ago. I was there in late autumn which was a lovely time of year. This historic city is incredibly beautiful to explore especially near its famous lake. Sadly I only had a day here so I didn't get to see much but I loved my morning walk through the city including this park!

Rovinj, Croatia

Visitors to Rovinj are often struck by its resemblance to Venice, its neighbor almost directly across the Adriatic Sea. The only thing that seems to distinguish “Little Venice” from its namesake is the absence of canals and busloads of tourists.

This is such a awesome photo. What was your shutter speed set at to get the water to look so cool?

@derangedvisions Thank you! 120 seconds, ND 10-stop filter were used

Truly magnificent!

BasilicaSanctiPetri.jpg

Basilica Sancti Petri or St. Peter's Basilica seen from across the River Tiber. Construction of the current basilica was undertaken between 1506 and 1626 replacing the original St. Peter's Basilica dating to imperial Roman times in the 4th century AD.

This is a great photo. The architecture is so awesome looking in Europe.

Thank you so much for your contribution. Have a great day. Tomas

Another phantasmagorical sunset at Baltic Sea, nearby Klaipeda, Lithuania. Amazing sky and the long exposure to freeze the water

Anybody see the Phoenix? :)

Enjoy the scenery!

Photo of Gothenburg Harbour in Sweden. Taken in summer when the days are long the nights are short and clear, as it can be seen in this photo. Gothenburg is an industrial city located at Southern Sweden, it is the house of the famous photographic cameras and lenses maker Hasselblad.

The happy alpine cows in South Tyrol, an autonomous region in northern Italy, enjoying fresh air, an infinity of mountain plateau and the striking beauty of the Dolomiti peaks. This region is not only beautiful but it is unique from the infusion of Austrian culture into all aspects of Italian life. I spent last summer trekking and getting lost in the heart of these mountains.

That just reminds me a Milka Chocolate commercial:).... Great image!

haha! I'm craving a chocolate now

Wild lake in the forest. North of Russia. Around for many kilometers only you are alone. The air after the night is cold, but the water is still warm. This first ray of the sun has to break through clouds of fog. Everything around wakes up.

Water lilies are bursting. A few more minutes of beauty and silence ...
hordes of mosquitoes have not woken up yet)
Russia morning

After seeing your image I will just have to start getting up early to get to see those sunrises and sceneries! Looks soo innocent. Thank you!

))
It was always difficult for me to get up at sunrise. Therefore, I often take sundowns. And here we lived right on the shore of the lake. I could wake up on an alarm clock, go do a dozen photos. And then go back to sleep))

The Normandy Coast is one of the most varied I've ever visited. Most of all I liked the high limestone cliffs. Those on my photo is around Fécamp. Where are the beautiful sunsets when the weather is good.

What a fantastic image! Thank you so much for your contribution. Tomas

A nice view over these fields of grappes running on the hills. Sitting on a terrace in a small village located in the Ardèche River area I'm enjoying this moment before dusk when the sky is still pink-oranged while sipping on my glass of wine... Cheers :)

Location: Saint-Sauveur-de-Cruzières, France.

Hmm, I can completely relate to that - just sitting, enjoying the scenery and sipping on the wine:)......

Leuchtenburg
This is the "Leuchtenburg". An old castle with a beautiful landscape around it. It's not known how old this castle is, but the oldest mention goes back to 1221. Luckily it's one of those castles that still get maintained well. Many different events take place on a regular basis and the income is used to keep the castle alive.

Looks like an amazing place for cycling:)... I love those! Thank you so much for your contribution. Tomas

This is the HARPA conference center and concert hall in downtown Reykjavik, Iceland. Located beside the harbour, this iconic glass structure is becoming one of the most popular tourist attractions in the capital city.

Thank you as always. :)

Berlin - Old National Gallery
I discovered this kind of tunnel last summer when I cruised around with my bicycle. It is located on the right side of the Old National Gallery at Berlin. The Style of the Buildings is something between the late Berlin-Classicism and the Neo-Renaissance. It was built around 1867 -1876 and belongs the Unesco World Heritage Site. A cool place to go around and take some pictures. On the right hand of the tunnel is the Spree located and you have a nice view to the Fernsehturm and a part of the district "Mitte".

Panoramic view of streets surrounding Forum Romanum, famous ruins of an ancient plaza (square) found in the very historic center of Rome. Home to almost 3 million people, Rome is considered one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. It is famous for abundance of breathtaking architecture dating back to thousands of years ago.

During winter, the Alps region in Switzerland is always cover with snow. On the cog railway going up Jungfraujong, the beautiful snowy landscape can be clearly seen, with a lot of snow covered pine trees and white capped mountains in the background. Sometimes mists and clouds adds to the character of the landscape too, like the picture taken here where the snow mist created a rainbow under the afternoon sun, like a colourful sticker stuck on the otherwise white landscape.

I made this panorama last summer during a trip to Kazan (Russia).

The Kazan Kremlin is one of the main, if not the most important attraction of Kazan. Its history begins with the 10th century. The modern stone Kremlin was built in the 16th century.

The territory of the Kremlin is on the hill and is surrounded by tall, thick stone walls. Inside the Kremlin there are many historical buildings, as well as the modern mosque Kul Sharif, built on the site of a mosque destroyed in the 16th century during the assault of Kazan by the troops of the Russian Tsar Ivan Groznyi (Ivan the Terrible). You can see this mosque on the picture.

When I was walking through the kremlin territory I saw a observation tower that was built in the thick wall of kremlin. I went to the top of this tower and made a panorama from about 10 portrait oriented shots. You can see the wall right in the center of the frame.

Hiking up the slopes adjacent to the Matterhorn in Zermatt Switzerland. It was one of the most beautiful days while hiking throughout the Alps in Switzerland and the single most beautiful mountain I have ever seen. I see why Disney stole it for their parks.

This photo was taken at the beautiful Lake Ohrid in Macedonia. We made a stop at this lake on our road trip through the Balkans last year. We camped for a few days right at the lake not far from this picturesque church. Always nice when beautiful pictures bring back some happy memories!

Oporto is the second largest city in Portugal, it rises on the north bank of the Douro River, which produces the dramatic undulating landscape and allows you to enjoy spectacular views.

While Granada's Alhambra is in every mouth, Sevilla might actually be one of the best places to see the Moorish heritage in Spain. After the city was retaken by the Catholic Spanish kings, the former mosque became the city's provisional cathedral; later, elements of it were integrated into what today is the world's third-biggest cathedral.

I visited a lot of beautiful places in Europe, but if I have a chance so I should promote my home city Wrocław (in Poland) as I think is worth to see. As usual I don't like to describe too much, but I think that everybody can find something interesting...

Since it is Holy Week I'm going with none other than Jesus himself. This is from a procession on Palm Sunday in Seville, Spain. This city really goes all out for Holy Week and it has been pretty amazing to experience it.

This is Disney's castle in Paris, a beautiful recreational park for all ages, here you can see a show with bright and colorful fireworks that lit the whole place. A unique and unforgettable experience to spend as a family. A place where the fun never ends.

In this photo I show you the largest royal palace in all of Western Europe; The Royal Palace of Madrid, in Spain, is an important heritage of both history and art. With a high tourist potential. The current kings do not live here, so it is used for state ceremonies and solemn acts.

my entry for today is this Crooked Forest, or 'Krzywy Las" which is located near Gryfino city in Poland .
Crooked Forest are mysteriously bent. Hovering just inches above the ground, the trees amazingly, and dramatically, take a sharp turn toward the sky, rounding into little J or C shapes. there are so many stories without a good explanation or answer why the Trees there look like that.

That is creepy and awesome at the same time. Great photo.

Thank you :) ,
I think it could be a good spot for The movies , and dont Know why Its not popular destination and always empty

Really awesome photos. Rotto, Como -jawdropping. I want to show you mone photo from Lucerne - Switzerland. Beautyful view by dawn. I hope I can go back there in future.IMG_2066.JPG

Hey Steemians, for today's contest I decided to show you this amazing place, I've been to last week. It's a snow labyrinth in Zakopane, Poland. It was created for the first time 2 years ago, and this labyrinth was written in the Guiness Book of Records as the largest in the world. Really worth to visit. I had so much fun when I couldn't go out :D

Moritzburg Castle or Palace is a German baroque palace in the small town of Moritzburg, in the federal state of Saxony. It is located near the city of Dresden. It was built between 1542-1546 as a hunting lodge for Duke Maurice of Saxony and received its current appearance in the 18th century. I took the picture when my wife and I walked around the lake that surrounds it and for a moment the presence of the swans and the reflection of the light in the lake seemed precious to me. I hope you like Tomas ...

Hi, what a great click! Unfortunately it is missing a required description of 30 to 50 words to be considered for the challenge. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas

Across the Pont Alexandre III in Paris lies the Grand Palais. It was built in the Beaux-Arts style for the 1900 Universal Exhibition with the most innovative technique at the time, namely iron, steel and reinforced concrete, and its glass roof is the largest in Europe. It is currently being used for concerts and exhibitions.

The photo is taken on the canals of Venice, giving the impression of being sailing on these channels, it is clearly a very familiar image for all people, the gondola: so many romantic stories based on these waters, Italy is undoubtedly the countries where the magic of love is in every corner and in every photo
