7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #36 - winner announcement!

@jayclar30 Australian Monday entry:

This is Natural Bridge but is sometimes called Natural Arch. It is a stunning waterfall found in Springbrook National Park in Queensland, Australia. I was blessed the day we visited, we had been there for a little while and I had already taken a heap of photos but then the sun found an area through the trees to shine through making my photos all the better. The reflection from the sun on the water was reflecting up onto the roof of the cave highlighting it's fabulous textures and colours.

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Next frame from "Endangered Species" series. Pretty long exposure shot of a beautiful sunset at the Baltic Sea coast, nearby the gates to the port of Klaipeda. Pretty stormy skies, but still with touch of colors from the dawning sun at the horizon. A long piece of wood as a perfect foreground leading the eye to the endless sea. Enjoy the scenery!

The Port of Saint-Tropez is pretty much exactly what you'd imagine: tasteful, elegant, and filled with expensive sailing boats and yachts. I visited this beautiful city in the south of France last October and had the chance to walk along the port in the early evening hours. There was so much activity in restaurants and shops that it was a lovely experience.

Yep, that sure is an amazing place. Thank you for sharing your experience from there Matt.

A look at the colorful fishing village of Riomaggiore, one of the five Cinque Terre wonders, located in the Liguria region (northwestern Italy) ... The dramatic cloudy sky and the rough sea helped for the perfect setting!

Those colors are incredible!

Indeed Matt!

That is beautiful. I would love to live there. Great shot.

Thanks Wes! Cheers

Whole of that region is absolutely stunning and you picture is the prove of that.

Thanks Tomas! Cheers!

Senhora da Paz is a small chapel on the Acores island Sao Miguel. The stairs on the way up to the chapel are symbolizing the suffering of Jesus Christ. You should definately do these stairs because you will have an amazing view down the sea.

Thank you so much for your submission. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Amazing as usually :)

Thanks :)

Great shot. I like all the different colors.

Lake in Sweden

Sweden is known as the home to many beautiful lakes and this one is no exception. Luckily, the weather had finally cleared up when I arrived at this lake and it was a welcome stop on my way from Trondheim in Norway to Stockholm.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

That reflection is perfect. It is just like a mirror. Awesome shot.

The water was so incredibly calm! Thanks for your comment 😀

So nice sky...
Overall amazing clear photo with stunning reflection!

Thanks for your comment 😀

That is just fantastic!

Thanks Tomas!

Sandy Beach, Isle of Eigg

One of the things that made Scotland such a special place to photograph was the way that its weather was ever-changing. I’d never experienced a place whose moods could change as rapidly as Scotland’s. A sky that seemed to promise only rain and leaden clouds could crack open and sunlight would stream through.

Europe-10.jpg

Very interesting image indeed!

A marvelous feat of engineering and a photographers delight. This is Puente Nuevo and its surrounding area. A majestic 200+-year-old structure with beautiful views on both sides from the top of the structure, begging to be photographed. A must see if you're in the area around Ronda, in Andalusia (Spain).

Wow, that truly is gorgeous!

This photo could also be from my home country Slovenia, but it is not. It is from French Alps. I was on cycling trip there last July. I had amazing time cycling though all these hills and mountains. Fresh air and nature all around you is precious.

Metropolitan Magesty
Came accross this scene while showing my buddy around Madrid. I love the aesthetic of triangular buildings like both the Metropolis building and the Grassy building we see here side by side. Although built a decade after by a different architect, they share a similar architectural style. Thank you
My apologies for the low quality. For some reason I kept getting upload errors when trying to upload the full size image :,(

Thank you Tomas, I look forward to your competition every week

Western Tatra Mountains in November. I took this photo on my way to Grześ Mountain in Poland. It's not very high mountain, not difficult to hike there but the view is really beautiful.

Top of the world! What a scenery, love it!

Thank you :)

At first sight pretty usual shot of the sea, but at the same time a lot atmospheric. Sun spot on the sea surface brings even more interest to the scene. Shot at Baltic Sea coastline, nearby Klaipeda, Lithuania

Enjoy it!

The Alps from above. This was taken from the window of an aeroplane as I fly back from Zurich to Bangkok. It was the middle of summer, so the mountains were hardly covered with snow caps. Instead, massive mountain lakes formed in the valleys, which is so calm that it reflects the clouds above. Very beautiful.

The old town of Ptuj, Slovenia's oldest city, lies on the Drava River, which shimmers in beautiful turquoise shades on sunny days. Its landmark is the castle hill, which can be climbed on foot, after crossing this pedestrian bridge.

St. Vitus Cathedral is the metropolitan cathedral in Prague, Czech Republic. Sitting on a hill overlooking the city in the Prague Castle Complex this Gothic architectural masterpiece rivals any across Europe.

The first church on this site was founded by Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia in 930 to help turn his community towards Christianity. Construction of the current Gothic structure was begun in the year 1344.

Rural Park Betancuria

We were visiting the beautiful Island of Fuerteventura back in 2010 and were driving around the island in our rented car. We came across this awesome National Park on the westside of the island. Along the street through the park are several viewing points were you can stop and take breathtaking photos. I really like the contrast between the sand and the sky.

Stari Most is a rebuilt 16th-century Ottoman bridge in the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina that crosses the river Neretva and connects the two parts of the city. I visited Mostar 2 years back, it was scorching in the summer, people like to jump from the top of the bridge to the river, it is like a sport.

That place is relativly close to my home country, but I haven't visited yet...
Your photo looks really attractive, so now I really have to plan a Balkan trip :)

As I was walking under the Eiffel Tower in Paris for the first time, snapped this pic and when doing so a bird flew past! The bird is a lil blurry but still love this photo none the less and reminds me of what a great day this was :)

30 Minutes before Sunrise in the Sandstone Mountains of the "Saxon Siwtzerland"

Those soft and smooth color changes on top of the mist was an incredible game of natures talents!

Obersee is a small lake above Koniggsee in the in Bavaria. On this day we hiked around this lake, then up to Rothbachfall - Germany's highest waterfall, which is just out of view.

Love the water in general, so photos with lakes, rivers, waterfalls are especially close to me.
You did a great job with this one!

Thanks @crazy-andy, happy you like it. Maybe you aren't so crazy after all.

Kálymnos, Dhodhekanisos, Greece.jpg

Kálymnos, Dhodhekanisos, Greece

Kálymnos, also spelled Kálimnos, mountainous Greek island in the Aegean Sea, part of the Dodecanese group, 42 square miles (111 square km) in area. The capital, Kálymnos, located at the head of an inlet in the southeast, is the chief port and a prominent Aegean commercial center with the bulk of the island’s population.

Charming shot of the Egelantiersgracht..
At the bend of a canal, we came across this little cafe waiting for us, open door, for lunch. Warm and traditional decor, peaceful interior, simple but excellent meal, we feasted! Staff available and smiling despite the large clientele. We spent most of the afternoon there and even sympathized with the table next door.

Tralouse lyon.jpg

The picture may not scream beauty but the history behind the Trabloules in the old parts of Lyon is quite fascinating. Was there 2 weeks ago for the Europa League final but the city blew me away!

Incredible geometry

IMG_1538.JPG This pictures is from my trip to Budapeat in March. I was expecting warm weather as it was 25 degrees last year during Easter. The weather Gods wanted it their way and gave me 10 segrees haha.

This is a very cinematic shot! Very cool

Thank you!

Hi! I do have my doubts about the authenticity of your image. Kindly provide an ownership to your image. Thank you. Tomas

I am sorry I dont understand you. But all i can say is this is my photo and you are more than welcome to take more time to authenticize my picture and also ask around from your friends then when you are certain i didn't steal it you can upvote it for me thanks.

What is it you do not understand? The question was very simple, to provide an ownership to this image. Why would I need to ask my friends for that?

Duisburg Inner Harbour (Innenhafen Duisburg)
The Inner Harbour in Duisburg, Germany was built in the 19th century on the Rhine river and was the central trading point of the town for over hundred years. Grain mills and their warehouses were established around the harbour and gave it the nickname "bread basket of the Ruhr district". As the importance of the harbour declined in the 1960's, it remained mostly unused for 20 years. The former industrial area has been fundamentally transformed in 1989-1999 into a district combining employment, housing, culture and water-based leisure activities.

My entry is the view of the city centre of Turin from the hill Monte dei cappuccini during the sunset with cloudy sky. The tower is Mole Antonelliana the symbol of the city. In the past it was a synagogue nowadays the interior has a musuem of cinema. Its left side has an illumination representative of the symbol of an event occured recently in Turin: International Book exibition (Salone internazionale del libro)

Let us always enjoy enjoy Czech republic because the country has got a lot of amazing things to offer. I really like to make more shots in places like Brno and prague. It was such an interesting moment to stroll Brno.

I took this picture one morning at the construction site on which I once worked. The construction site was in the south of Germany. The sun was always more interesting than the work and the screaming boss. :D

This is the Hereford Cathedral in the UK. The peace and harmony I personally felt in this place was unimaginable. Everyone had a positive vibe around them. Such a peaceful place to be.

An iconic statue of the Fab Four, in their hometown. The Beatles Statue arrived on Liverpool's Waterfront in December 2015. Donated by the famous Cavern Club, the placement of the statue coincides with the 50 year anniversary of the band's last gig played in Liverpool, at the Liverpool Empire Theatre. It's the city's most popular selfie spot! The figures are larger than life size and weigh 1.2 tonnes in total.

Plateau d’Emparis, le Lac Noir (Black Lake) in France (altitude 2450 meters)
One of the most beautiful place where I travelled in France, this lake is very cold but I could see many fishs in it. From such a height you can see glaciers all around you.

One of the most visited tourist attraction of Vienna amusement park Prater is The Wiener Riesenrad. Riesenrad was constructed in 1897 by English engineer Walter Bassett Bassett. The height of the wheel is 65 meters and there is a great view from the top!

Over the 10 years living in Valencia I'm pretty darn good in making my own Paekka which could be accepted by Valencians. I took this picture during a Paella cooking class, it's not a bad idea to get a refresher once in a while!
