7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #51 - winner announcement!

@amyalfatasya Asian Sunday entry:

Enjoy the beauty of the sunset on Saneey beach, Aceh Indonesia. This beach is located far from the capital of the large Aceh district. I took this picture and had to pass a road that was very far from the main road. And the natural scenery on this beach is very beautiful with a combination of mountains and sea.

@vinceboisgard Australian Monday entry:

One thing I know for sure about the Australian outback is that it is always a calling for new adventures. Driving the open roads, being lost and discover the real beauty of the country. Being amazed the clouds and each sunset you can possibly see... Take me back there.

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Next frame from the frozen Baltic Sea coastline shot back to February, 2014. Finally the cold started to retreat and in the evening even got some water on the ice surface, adding even some more reflection. Shot with very wide angle lens.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #51 - winner announcement!

@timothyallen African Wednesday entry:

This photo was shot at a 'Gerewol' in a remote corner of Niger's Sahara desert near Lake Chad. A Gerewol is a gathering of nomadic Wodaabe people who come together for a few days and (amongst other things) dance together for many hours. This is a photo of one such dance at sunset.

Kampen is a small town in the Netherlands an hour away from Amsterdam by train. It's mostly an agriculture town surrounded by miles and miles of farmland. I stood on a bridge just outside of the city center where I took this photo just before sunset.

The Robba Fountain in Ljubljana (Slovenia) . It is an important baroque monument of the Slovenian capital and it was made by the Venetian artist Francesco Robba in 1751. It is also known as the Fountain of the three rivers, once it symbolizes the main three rivers of the European country: the Sava, the Krka and the Ljubljanica. At the background there is the St. Nicholas Cathedral, also built in baroque style.

I recently published a post about it.

Ohhh, I really like one of our main sources of life, water. Consequently I like lakes, rivers, seaside and especially waterfalls as my photographic motives as well. Iceland is one of the best regarding waterfalls (plus many other things). So enjoy in today’s photo and have a lovely day.

The "green lake" is one of the most famous places in the beautiful nature of Styria. The idyllic ambience, in combination with wonderful weather, offered me ideal conditions to use my glass ball in an impressive way.

I have no idea how you did this, but it is amazing.

Thank you, actually it's quite simple 😀

Hamburg, Germany

It's incredible how the sun is the same wherever you go in this world of ours, but it can present it's colours differently every day If you take the time to contemplate. This was taken in Hamburg, 2012.

When you want to live in the city, but without too many neighbours. This little island with houses on top is in the harbour of Helsinki. Getting some real private space there.

Giethoorn, the Venice of the Netherlands
Giethoorn is a beautiful village in the Netherlands. This idyllic village has no road and the only access is by water over the many beautiful canals. The hydrangea and rose are bloomed in every home garden on June. I took this photo by my smartphone.

Krankzhorn, Germany/Austria
Yes, you are reading it correct, this mountain stays on 2 countries - 1 part on German ground - and the other part on Austrian ground. It's my home mountain which I hiked up a view weeks ago when I visited my parents Absolut stunning view!

Le Jardin Albert 1er, a famous public park connecting the historic square Place Massena and the renowned Promenade des Anglais in the center of Nice, France. The park is dominated by this huge arc sculpture by the prominent French conceptual artist Bernar Venet. Known as “Arc of 115.5 Degrees”, the sculpture was installed in the park in September 1988 on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of the naming on Nice.

Unseen Klaipeda

Quite unusual cityscape this time in infra-red. The central square of Klaipeda, Lithuania during summer time. The best time to shoot in IR when harsh sun and a lot of green trees around

Shot with converted camera with post-production and color grading in LR+PS

Enjoy the scenery!

Paris. For the best view you don't go to the Eiffel Tower, but to Tour Montparnasse, where you can see the Eiffel Tower in all its glory. The view from Tour Montparnasse was reason enough for me to get back there at night time. It was worth it, It think.

Roman Ruins in Zadar, Croatia

As a former colony of the ancient Roman empire, the coast of Croatia features a lot of Roman heritage. These are the remains of the Roman city Ladera that is now incorporated into the city centre of Zadar.

Portovenere is a little pictuersque town in Liguria Italy just a stone's throw away from the famous Cinque Terre :) The moment you catch your first glimpse on the picturesque harbour surrounded by a wall of colourful buildings you will fall in love with this old fishermen’s village. The little harbour has a beautiful location overlooking the nearby Palmaria Island.

This photo was taken by us @travelingstories on our trip to the beautiful Island of São Miguel, in the Azores, Portugal, a few years ago. This Island is of vulvanic origin, which makes its soil fértile and its greens so vivid ;)

It's always a pleasure to share your work Tomas.

Crete/Greece

Here you can see part of Bali bay in Crete/Greece. I was there for one week at the end of September 2016 and it was still perfect weather for bathing in the sea, taking trips across the island and enjoying cocktails and dinner outside at night. I can only recommend this area, it's a very small village though, nice and quiet. The little lighthouse was more or less the main attraction ;-)

Shot in Barcelona during La Mercè Festival of fire. People let off fireworks in the street... One camera was harmed in the making of this photo..

View of St. Peter's Square from St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Italy is full of history and Rome is a fine example. It is an open-air museum since we can find ruins all over the city. The city is big and there is something nice to see for everyone.
