7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #24 – winner announcement!

@racheleecious Asian Sunday entry:

This was taken last year when we go to a trip in Albay, Philippines. This is the perfect coned shape volcano, the Mayon Volcano. I took this picture because of the perfect reflection of its image in the ricefield with water. This volcano explodes last January 2018. Mayon is the one of the many tourist destination here in the Philippines.

@akirachang Australian Monday entry:

I took this photo at Brisbane story bridge. It is a heritage-listed steel cantilever bridge connecting northern and southern Brisbane. At night, the bridge's purple lights lit up half of the Brisbane river into a deep purple colour. Conjunction with the building light beside, It makes a great contrast at night. A really unique scenery in Brisbane Australia.

@dmytrokorol Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Morning on Praia do Pinhao in Lagos, Portugal. I wasn't sure I need to get off the bed that rainy morning and drive 30 km to this beach, but I glad I did it. A thin line of clear sky appeared on the horizon just in time to show let the rising sun enlighten everything around.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #24 – winner announcement!

@fjorenca African Wednesday entry:

This picture was taken at sunset in the Erg Chebbi dunes of Morocco. Our caravan stopped to enjoy the color transformations of the desert. Even my camel seemed to be admiring the sunset. I asked our berber guide if he ever gets sick of this view. He said "The desert is my home; this is where I feel that I belong."

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – European Thursday week #24 – winner announcement!

@francismoure European Thursday entry:

This is a photo taken in Russia, specifically in the red square of Moscow, where it is shown to the Cathedral of St. Basil, at night it looks much more spectacular than in the day, this is a very famous cathedral, mostly because of its domes in the shape of a bulb, for us tourists. But without a doubt it is a very beautiful place.

This place is a special little area for me that no one really knows about. It is a little pond in a neighborhood near my home called Loch Lomond pond. I come here to think some times and relax. I have also done many photo shoots with clients out here. You can see the Rocky Mountains in the background too.

Great capture! Thanks ever so much for your participation. Tomas

Giant Cedars boardwalk Trail
This stunning 500 year old forest is located in West Canada and belongs to the Mt. Revelstoke National Park. The trail is on a wooden boardwalk and is about 500m long. When you enter this dark breathtaking forest it is like entering another world...

Stunning, peaceful, beautiful! Well done!

Banff National Park is a very nice and interesting place. It is located in Alberta, Canada. The Canadian rocky mountains cross the park and there are many lakes, rivers and wild life.
While I was visiting one of the lakes, I saw these mountain goats eating on the border of the lake. So it gave me a nice opportunity for a photo.

this is an incredible well done

Great image, great place, great entry! Well done!

Thank you!

New York - Times Square 🗽

I took this picture at Times Square New York back in 2010. It is for sure one of the main tourist destination in this amazing big city. Hundred thounds of people crossing this area every day and you see comercials and flashing lights everywhere.

To make a little contrast between this flashing colourful lights and everything around there, i decided to take the picture into balck and white...

I took this photo at Yellowstone national park. Yellowstone is in the United States, in the states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.
It is famous for its large herds of bison, geysers and hot springs.
Here you are the Grand Prismatic Spring.

Very nice photo, keep it up

Splendid entry. Thanks ever so much for your participation. Tomas

Beauty And The Beast
Warm rain is melting the snow pack that sits above Sedona Arizona, USA. Oak Creek is flooding but in spite of the fury and danger there's a break in the clouds. A beautiful vibrant rainbow appears in front of Cathedral Rock to create this breathtaking moment in time.

Thanks ever so much for your participation and this wonderful image. Tomas

Your welcome! It took years of waiting in anticipation for nature to give me the opportunity to capture this photo. I am happy to be a part of this contest.

Tufas Under A Blood Red Sky

These exposed tufa towers drive most of the traffic to Mono Lake. The California Park Service has carefully assembled wooden paths and boardwalks to protect the fragile environment along the lakeshore and even charges admission to a number of the more popular areas to defray the expense of maintenance.

The city of Los Angeles has diverted a lot of the water that used to feed this lake and as the lake started to shrink exposing more of these tufas on shore. The local ecosystem, as a result, was thrown out of equilibrium, and alkali deposits left on the shores have been picked up by the wind, causing concerns about air quality in the region.

After several years of citizen-led attempts, the California State Water Resources Control Board issued an order in 1994 to protect the lake and the streams that feed it. This order should end in the lake level climbing 17 ft (5m) within a span of 20 years.

These change in water level will submerge much of the tufa that currently brings visitors to the lake, perpetuating another interesting cycle of logic. Had the water never been redirected in the first place and the water amount not dropped the lake wouldn't have turned into a famous tourist attraction it now is.

While I don't mind being able to photograph the tufas, producing images such as this. I would rather it sink back into the lake whence it came as naturally as it has been in the past.

Great image as well as entry! For the purpose of the challenge try to limit you input.... optimal 30 to 50 words! Thank you for understanding. Tomas

Yosemite Valley on a busy evening as the sun went down. Yosemite National Park is what it is today, largely due to the work of John Muir which later fed into the creation of the US National Parks system.

Fireworks behind Parliament Hill conclude last year's July 1st Canada Day festivities in Ottawa, our nation's capital. This year we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the official founding of the nation of Canada.

Ottawa_Firework2017.jpg

Beautiful photo. What exposure time did you use ?

It's a composite of a few different fireworks. I was using bulb mode to time each burst, so there's no one correct answer to your question. :)

Some serious fireworks:)...

Yep, it was a great show! :)

Back in March 2016, I was incredibly lucky to shoot the famous Fly Geyser. It was tough for most photographers to shoot because it sat on protected private property in Nevada, USA near the town of Gerlach. A good friend of mine met the property owner by chance and we ended up with the elusive permission to photograph it. The property is now owned by Burning Man. Visiting the geyser is currently not allowed but it looks like they will be opening the area to visitors in the future. This is a 30 second shot, lit with a headlamp.

Fly Geyser at Night 6.jpg

Congratulations on winning the contest. Your photography certain conveys the wild and oftentimes surreal beauty. I enjoyed reading the backstory of how you got access to it and the deatails of how you set up the shot.

Thank you @tmayd! It was nice to wake up this morning to find out I won the North America Friday. I'm glad you like the photo. Fingers crossed for the final round...

And thanks again Tomas!

Wow! We are very privileged to get an image of Fly Geyser then! I am very pleased you have entered the contest! Tomas

My entry is from what is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.. Oregon. I've been thankful to spend a lot of time there this past month. There's just something about it.. a special place, for sure.

Hi! Great to have a new guy on the blog:).... and already making an entrance with such an amazing image! Thanks ever so much for sharing. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on in a separate post. Tomas

This is a super cool picture man. I love how foggy it looks 👌

This is my entry for today's contest! Grand Canyon is a place where you could just sit all day and enjoy the magnificent views. No wonder that the Grand Canyon belongs to the Seven Natural Wonders Of The World.

Now give him the 200 SBD, the miss usa band, the crown, or rather everything. 😂
How amazing is your photography, I would make a picture 👏👏

Nice picture, got it at a good time to play with light and shadows.

BowronCabin.jpg

Late autumn conditions begin to give way to winter over a remote cabin on the waters edge at Bowron Lake. Isolated from the troubles of the world, it's places like this which provide much needed tranquility to hardy souls looking for some inner peace. Cariboo Mountains. British Columbia, Canada.

The Inuksuk was known to be an ancient Inuit marker made by stacking and balancing stones upright marking passage, access to resource (hunting) etc... Today it has become part of the Western Canadian culture mainly in the Rockies to mark our presence and several of these can be found in any location. Taken near Athabasca Falls.

This picture was taken at Sunrise in Maroon Bells, Colorado. Maroon Bells is the most photographed place in Colorado. We had to wake up at 4am to get here on a chilly morning, after sleeping for 2 hours. But it was worth it.

Canadians are hearty folk. These two women meet up every month for a paddle. Rain or shine, snow or sleet...frozen or not. There is always open water somewhere. Chatting with them reminded me to stay in touch with friends... The picture was taken on the Spray lakes road, just outside of Canmore Alberta, Canada.

That's dedication. Beautiful picture.

One of the top diving destinations in the world famous for its bright coral reefs, the island of Cozumel is also home to a variety of natural beaches. The beaches with soft white sand are perfect for relaxing or snorkeling. This photo was taken couple weeks ago.

Venice Beach is one of many great beaches in Los Angeles. I was lucky to have captured these slender palm trees standing against the colorful sky in the golden hour. This area is a cultural hub with a bohemian vibe. You can walk the long boardwalk to reach the famous Santa Monica Pier.

Venice Beach LA.JPG

Classic but very nice :) ... I like the color tones.

Thanks @vinceboisgard! =)

Pink sky over Manhattan, this scenery looks unrealistic. So colorful and abstract but so real for a matter of fact!

Dumbo or the waterfront is a nice place to enjoy wonderful summer sunset with flashy skies and dark skylines.

Enjoy the view my friends.

Location: Manhattan, USA.

This photo was taken inside of the Notre-Dame Basilica in the district of Old Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This magnificent Neo-Gothic church is definitely worth a visit. It's symphony of carved wood, paintings, gilded sculptures and stained-glass windows.

Chicagooo Chicagooo, that toddlin' town. Chicago is a city full of life, art, music, and inspiration. I lived there for about 1.5 years and in that time I met more people who were actively pursuing their dreams then I've ever met before. The American Dream definitely lives on in Chicago.

I always like to visit national parks when traveling through the USA. This is shot from a Joshua Tree National Park in California. It's rather a small national park and it is not one of those well-known ones. It's full of Joshua trees all around you!

Most of the cool pictures of New York that we see are from time square, central park, the statues of liberty or all the big buildings. But NY is also full of cool architecture and old cars. This was taken while walking around Brooklyn. A cool neighborhood to discover.

NY.JPG

Today I would love to share a photo I took in San Francisco. We visited the famous Lombard Street and the first thing we noticed was there were ALOT of tourists. I guess it is a famous spot as many movie scenes were shot there and the view looking out was pretty nice. We did drive our car down the road so it was pretty cool

IMG_2118a.JPG

Before I went to New York I watched an Anthony Bourdain's show where he praised Gray's Papaya as the place to go for hot dogs in the city. This one is an old school, small, colorful place at Broadway, where the yellow stands out.

IMG-20170220-WA0001 (1).jpg

This is a photo of the Ko'olau mountain range taken from the Three Peaks hike on Oahu. These mountains are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen by how they climb vertically from the ground with sheer cliffs. During the winter you will see hundreds of waterfalls coming down the cliffs as rain water funnels down into ridges.

This is Guasana which I had on the side of Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest saltwater lake. It is a Mexican street food made of steamed and shelled chickpeas, salt and water and does the job very well after a long walk!

20161005_182543.jpg
This was one of the many beautiful sunsets I saw on Maui whilst in Hawaii with my sister for our joint birthday getaway, living on the east coast of Australia, it was such a treat seeing the sun set over the ocean :)

very perfect photo, I like photo sunset, sunset which is very beautiful.

ROATAN

Private beach W.roatan Honduras.jpg

This beautiful Honduran island is a paradise due to its beaches, its 27 degrees perennial, its 90% of wild vegetation, its indigenous cultures. The beach that appears in the photo is West Bay, a private beach that is characterized by an unreal turquoise color in its waters and its extra fine sand.

I like this photography contest, let me go and search my album whether I can see any picture that befit tye challenge/contest.

I will be back in a jiffy.

Congratulation to the winner And thanks for sharing that keep it up
A great photo challenge
Can you explain photo for challenge is post in comment or on my own post

A beautiful sunrise in Georgian Bay, which belongs to Lake Huron, in the province of Ontario - Canada. This beautiful bay, contains tens of thousands of islands. The sunrises and sunsets in this body of water are spectacular.

For contests like these though, you must use your own work though and not work from another source, which means that it should be an image that you take yourself using your camera. I hope that his will help you in the future.

Thank you for being vigilant Wes!

The main stairway in the Denver Capitol Building impressed me with its golden elegance. The rotunda is large and you really know you are looking at money here. I toured this building while I was on a trip to Colorado in 2011 and it has stayed in my memory.

What a great effort put out here @czechglobahost. This is really a challenging contest. Congratulations to all the winners and I wish all of the contestant goodluck.

I visited a very cosy place in Mexico, which is called Cabo San Lucas. Though it is a very touristic place I think, the town was overwhelmed vividly with Mexican style. Especially I liked street singers who played cheerful music and sang loudly. Nice site!

Awesome view man... great photography...👍

nice!

The sphere on winter (NY/US). The sphere is a sculpture that was in the area of the World Trade Center, suffered some damage but as it was not totally destroyed, they took it to Battery Park, where the ferry is taken to go to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It is a slightly somber photo but I like the contrast.P1060866.JPG

Thanks for nice post giving ....
