7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #29 – winner announcement!

@best-trip-eva Asian Sunday entry:

Sunrise at Mt. Rinjani (3,726 meters or 12,224 ft). This is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Mt. Agung - the highest volcano on Bali island, which recently erupted - is visible on the back-right. All three of the Gili Islands can be seen before it. On the left side in the clouds the perfect cone shape of Rinjani is visible. The picture was taken the end of August 2017 and the trekking of the volcano was the highlight of my journey in Indonesia.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #29 – winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

On my first visit to New Zealand I spent a night in downtown Auckland. Early in the morning I made my way to a bridge from where I could overlook the skyline and some interesting intersections below. With a longtime exposure I could create a nice effect for the photo.

@ombrue Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Lhoknga is one of the best coastal areas in the greater Aceh face to the Indian Ocean. Therefore Lhoknga is one of the best sunset locations in Aceh. Almost every day and especially on Sunday crowded young people who come to enjoy and capture the sunset in Lhoknga. One of them is Sunset Surf Cafe which is a cafe directly opposite to the sunset.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #29 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:

This dune looks amazing - until you attempt to climb it! The sand makes it really hard to lift your feet and the strong winds are not improving the situation. However, the view from the top of this dune in the Moroccan Sahara totally made up for that and watching the colours of the majestic dunes slowly change during golden hour was one of the most amazing sunsets I have seen on my travels!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – European Thursday week #29 – winner announcement!

@davidgermano European Thursday entry:

Just an example of the amazing place that is Covão d'Ametade, a eco-campsite located in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park (North-Central Portugal) and integrated in one of the largest glacial valleys in all Europe. This beautiful stream is just one of several scenarios that one can enjoy at that place!

Last Friday evening, I walked around my neighborhood and took some new photos in front of the historic Hollywood Palladium theater. This theater was built in 1940 and featured Frank Sinatra on its opening night. In 2007, the theater underwent a major renovation and on its grand re-opening in 2008, Jay-Z was the headlining performer. And as you see on the billboard, up and coming singer Camila Cabello is performing tomorrow night, so this venue is still attracting major names and is an important part of the Hollywood landscape.

Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities and and had the most diverse population in the Maya world.
It is also the most well-known and frequently visited Mayan ruins site located in the centre of the Yucatan Peninsula as well as in all Mexico.In 2007 when it was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, along with places like Machu Picchu, the Roman Colosseum, and the Great Wall of China.

Woderful! Thank you so much for your participation. Have a great day. Tomas

In a small sentence I could summarize by "by far the best museum ever! "
So yes I liked, because absolutely everything is splendid in this museum, since the very singular architecture (part of the building is vintage -1912- the other was completely redone in modern style in 2004), until to the collections it contains.

Royal Ontario Museum-Toronto Canada

Yes, truly stunning!

This is incredible. Great job.

Harmony
It was a heavy downpour and then there was light. The sun came through the clouds to reveal a stunning double rainbow amidst an afternoon thunderstorm in beautiful Sedona Arizona USA. This rainbow is at a very low angle, because the sun is at a very high angle relative to the horizon.

Wow, that is an amazing capture! What a great entry!

When I was growing up, going to the mountains in summer was routine. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood I lost this practice, for valid reasons and excuses alike. My recent trip to Colorado reminded me what jumping into the unknown and pursuing your dreams feels like. Somehow, the simple fact of standing silent and alone before such majestic creation enabled me to hear an irresistible call - a call to reconsider my life and my future. If I learned one things during this expedition, it is to not underestimate the power of mountains!

What a fabulous shot once again! Truly stunning!

This is a replica statue of San Teodore at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. I took this picture a few weeks ago during a short family getaway. The Venetian Hotel is probably one of the coolest hotels to wander through in Vegas. There are private gondola rides around a small river that runs through the inside of the hotel while you tour through an area that is decorate to look like you are in Venice, Italy.

Excellent shot Wes!

This view you might get when you walk on the Brooklyn Bridge and the sun rises from behind the clouds. Lower Manhattan is part of the NYC, where are concentrated the highest skycrapers. On the right there is the highest one, One World Trade Center - known also as Freedom Tower.
Ahoj!

What a fabulous image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Been a while since I participated !

"She rides into Sunset" - This is the photo of my loved one during one of our rides in Texas. Living in Canada now we kind of miss the adventure and the road trips we used to do in America - the land of free and the home of brave

Welcome back:)....

Taken at Castle Mountain near Lake Louise Alberta, we always stop at this location when we are in the area. I also have a fascination with trains in the mountains, It was my lucky day since we had to wait for the train to cross, why not snap a few pictures.

Thank you so much for your participation, I like that image!

Last summer we were driving on Burr Trail, UT. On this road you find the Singing Canyon. It's a slot canyon called like that because of the acoustic character. Several people go there to play an instrument because of the great acoustic.

PSX_20180413_113041.jpg

That looks wonderful! There is so much to explore in the USA. I hope to make it to UT one day! Thank you for your entry. Tomas

Well I can definitely recommend it to visit UT. Thanks for your upvote

Here is my entry for tomas contest. The photo shows the famous Guggenheim Museum at New York. The Museum was build by the well known Architect Frank Loyd Wright, who is also one of my favourite architects. The museum was built and opened around 1959, but hey... how modern and still futuristic looks that !?

Oh Tybee Island - that was such an extra little bonus when we lived in Savannah For 91 Days. We went there pretty often to take walks and have pizza at one of those hippie pizza places. Pictured below is the Tybee lighthouse after sunset.

This was taken on a drive around a mountainous road in Summers County West Virginia. These are the majestic mountains with the Lilly Bridge right before it was torn down. The Lilly Bridge crossed over the Bluestone Lake and was also called the Bluestone Lake Bridge.

Hi, my entry for today is a photo I took in the Yosemite National Park, California in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Within in the parks nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.

San Francisco, California, USA. I was attending a Summer School at University of California Berkeley, but took every bit of time available to cross the bay and visit San Francisco. I made almost all the waterfront by foot. Sometimes, the fog comes without warning, transforming the atmosphere in a matter of minutes.

Wonderful post ..thanks for sharing...Best of luck friend ✫

such an amazing words,thanks a lot

I hope soon enough I will be able to participate. I am Nigerian and I haven't visited the North America.
