See the winner of the last week´s North American Friday @intrepidphotos with the following entry:

It's not often you get a sense of stillness at Athabasca falls. This shot was taken last spring looking through the canyon downstream of the falls. The shoulder seasons are nice in places like Athabasca so one can experience them without the crowds. People fall into this canyon almost every year and most don't live to tell the tale. Athabasca Falls, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. @matajingga Asian Sunday entry:

Bromo at Dawn. The morning atmosphere in the area of Mount Bromo. Bromo is one of the world-famous tourist destinations. I took this photo at 5:35 am Indonesia time. According to local belief, Mount Bromo is the name of the Main God in Hinduism. Active volcanoes in East Java, Indonesia. It has a height of 2,329 meters above sea level. The Tenggerese are native settlers around the mountain, believing that this mountain has magical powers that can protect their lives.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #38 - winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

Already Monday again :-) Today I show you a photo from my first trip to New Zealand back in 2014. The weather on the North Island wasn't very good and we had to cancle many of our plans. But down in the south-east at Castlepoint a spell of sunny weather was forecast. So we drove down there and it was a great decision. The Castlepoint Lighthouse with Castlerock in the distance is such a beautiful subject to photograph. And asside from that there's also a beautiful beach and some steep cliffs to explore.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #38 - winner announcement!

@amyalfatasya Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Enjoy the beauty of the beach and the sunset in the "puloet" (Aceh). The beach is located at the end of "Great Aceh" and travels about 50 kilometers from the city "Banda Aceh" The sea is directly opposite the strait of the Indies. In addition to offering beauty, the waves on this beach is quite large and tall. This beach is rarely visited because of the ferocity of the waves.

The lioness is waking with a yawn to great the other as the sun rises across the Serengetti in Tanzania. There really aren't words to describe the amazing feeling as you witness the early morning sun on the Serengetti and the animals wake for the day.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #38 - winner announcement!

@davedavis91 European Thursday entry:

There is Switzerland which is, I have to admit, really pretty. But than there is the Saxon Switzerland, which is even better ;) Nah, just kidding. It is fairly close though, thus I spent a lot of time in this pretty little area in the east of Germany. This shot was taken about 1h/ 90minutes before Sunrise. Heavy rain the night before provided the foundation for this super cool foggy scenery. An ocean of clouds with only the peaks penetrating the surface. Shot with my Nikon D5300 (Sigma 8-16mm).

I took this photo last Sunday morning on Hermosa Beach looking towards the Hermosa Pier. There really is nothing like an early morning Southern California Beach. Even at 6:30am, surfers and joggers were out getting an early start to their exercise routine. I’m off traveling for work right now but I thought I’d pop in and share this photo, the last LA I took before leaving!

Every time you post a shot of the beach, it makes me want to get in my car and make the 12 hour drive down to LA. It isn't that far for a long weekend getaway. Awesome shot. It looks like the area where the new Baywatch movie was filmed.

Yep, same here, could use a piece of beach myself, lol......

Red Stone Aglow

This vibrant evening light creates a wonderful distinction between these awesome rock formations and their descending gentle contours, also highlighted by a temperamental dark moody sky, it sets the tone for peace and harmony. That which was formed by ancient ocean sediment is now part of the beautiful mountains at sunset. Sedona Arizona USA.

Amazing as always. Great to see you joining the contest today.

Windy tower 5.jpg

Wind tower Hike I did just a few days ago! This is near Canmore in Alberta! It was about a 1000 meters elevation to get to the summit! I actually wrote a little piece on it here a few days ago if you'd like to check it out. WINDTOWER

Was nice to get back into the backyard of the rockies that I'm so privileged to visit whenever I get the chance.

This is a great shot. I have the rockies in my backyard, but a whole different part of them here in Utah. This looks like a great hike.

man the mountains in Utah must be breathtaking. I've had a layover once in SLC and my jaw was in my lap during the descent

They are pretty magnificent. I really don't get up there as much as I would like to. I have an engagement shoot I am doing this weekend and I think we are going to be heading up the canyon for it, so I should have some photos from that shoot to share later.

Yeah man it's a great area for hiking! I'm sure its similar yet different in Utah. I've been to Park City once and it was awesome!

Truly astounding view, great job. Nice touch having the people in the foreground ✌

What an amazing place for hiking, great nature indeed.

Hello all. I call this piece ~Tranquility~. Was taken on a dock at Lake Livingston, Texas around the start of the new year. Used a ~30 long exposure during blue hour when the final escaping rays of sun were curving over the horizon. The dead tree you see in the lake most likely was uprooted during a hurricane or tropical storm as we experience many in that area.

as always, thank you all, and thanks to Tom for keeping this contest going

This is great. I love the colors and the soft reflections on the water. Amazing shot.

Yep, those colors are amazing!

Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park in California just before sunrise. This is probably the most popular viewpoint in the park and there were at least 30 or 40 people already there when I arrived. Probably because it was too hot to sleep.

That is truly spectacular.

This is how this beloved symbol of San Francisco looks like during daytime when it's sunny. It was a warm clear day when I shot the Golden Gate Bridge, which was not so common since this area is often shrouded in fog. So the consulting architect Irving Morrow selected an orange vermilion color to enhance the bridge's visibility in fog and to complement the natural surroundings.

Thank you so much for this wonderful entry. Have a great weekend. Tomas

New York is the city of many heroes and maybe this strange man wearing a hood under the burning sun is one of them!

Walking the Brooklyn bridge against the tourist crowd as if he wanted to stay anonimous or maybe my imagination is way too big :)

What a great little story!

Lol, I've got a big imagination :)

The State of Pennsylvania monument in Gettysburg, PA. I visited this area during my trip while taking photographs for a book about the US Civil War. While we were there in Gettysburg, the sky was overcast and there was a slight rain, which added to the mood of the area where so many lives were lost. It was a very somber feeling.

Very moody shot. I really like the negative space from the clouds in the sky. nice job

Thank you so much for your participation Wes.

The Gooderham Building, which was constructed in 1891, is also known as the Flatiron Building because of its distinctive shape. It is located on the edge of the financial district in downtown Toronto. In the background you can see some skyscrapers and even the CN Tower on the far left.

Thank you so much for your participation. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming soon. Have a good one.

Thank you, Tomas, have a nice day too! 🙂

The Painted Hills located in Eastern Oregon is a magical place. There isn’t much to explore since where you are able to walk is very limited with the ground being so sensitive. The plan is to protect this place from humans destroying what Mother Nature built for us.

The colors on the hills are so awesome. Great shot!

Thanks man!

What an awesome image. Thank you so much for joining.

I took this picture as I was flying to Canada yesterday. 6 hours into my 10 hours flight I woke up and randomly looked out. I'm so glad I did! It was amazing 😍

It's a short but intense hike and probably the most beautiful one we had done so far in the USA.

Palm Trees on Hawaii

Hawaii is home to 10 out of the worlds 14 climate zones. The iconic palm trees can only be found in some parts along the coast, such as here on the Southwest of Big Island at the Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park.

angel jump Venezuela

Very nice photo and angle but I keep on wondering how is it that I found the same photo on this post made by @joseignacio

https://steemit.com/nature/@joseignacio/jump-angel-venezuela-one-of-the-7-natural-wonders-of-the-world

Can you kindly explain this to the community and clarify the situation?

Thank you very much.

I am sure you won't get a reply from this person that stole this image. It looks like the user @joseignacio also plagiarized this image as well. All of the images can be found here:

Wow. lol

I am Cornholio! (Whoa! Hm heh... that was cool) I need T.P. for my bunghole! Come out with your pants down!

Damn! May I ask what is the best way to figure out if an image is a plagiarism?

So far I seek out for similar images on google but maybe there is a better way to do so?

Google or tineye.com are good. It takes some digging on some.

Thank you :)

It is just sad that people are always trying to cheat!

Great call! Thank for that!
