7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #95 - winner announcement!

@jpphotography Asian Sunday entry:

Sigiriya, Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is one of the few places in Sri Lanka that are overcrowded with tourists, despite the hefty entrance fee. I went early in the morning and had about two hours to climb the rock and enjoy the stunning view from the top of the rock with relatively few people around. On the way down, I passed by hundreds of tourists.

@robbertb Australian Monday entry:

At the borders of an ancient forest on New Zealand's South Island, a lake, formed by a glacier 14.000 years ago, known as Lake Matheson provides an amazing view to Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman. The reflections in the lake are caused by the dark color of the water.

Manowar beach, in Dorset, is washed by the cold Atlantic waters. Yet when you look at it you may think it is one of the warm beaches of the Mediterranean. Go there at sunset for amazing views.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #95 - winner announcement!

@bil.prag European Thursday entry:

Golubac fortress is located on the south side of the Danube River in Serbia. It was built during the 14th century. In one period of time it was on the border of Ottoman Empire so it has seen a fair share of big battles. It was a pretty decent sunrise. As i was there only that morning i feel i was a bit lucky.

During the night the downtown of Toronto becomes colourful with its different lights and it looks romantic and attractive. This photo was taken from the island situated from the southern part of the downtown before catching the last ferry.

Photo of the Mirror Pool of the Washington Memorial of the capital of the United States of America. It was taken from the Lincoln Memorial, behind the obelisk of the Washington Memorial there is the the Capitol, which only a part of it is seen in the image.

When you are visiting the Bryce Canyon in Utah, you should definately not just take your photos from the edge of the rim. While exploring the canyon on a hike downwards you while find beautiful and unique rock formations.

Satellite Dishes on Mauna Kea, Hawaii

Mauna Kea on Hawaii is the location of a several large observatories that look like space homes in the Mars-like landscape. The skies over the island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean are incredibly clear and make for amazing nighttime views.

The Full Buck Moon
Seen rising above the Sedona landscape is the July full moon, which is traditionally called the full Buck Moon because July is when the bucks antlers are in full growth mode. This full moon comes to life rising up between the last remaining clouds of a dissipating thunderstorm at sunset. Sedona Arizona USA.

New Hampshire

The land of beautiful lakes and colorful fall destination. The picture is of Meridith town waterfront board walk. The trees across the water color their leaves for fall season and the Evenings color the sky.
The pure water has all the effects of reflections. The waterfront also has enough parking and naughty seagulls flying around.

New York, New York, from Central Park. The sun goes down, but the city is not sleepy. Time Square is full of people and the taxis are busy, the city is just waking up. Let’s enjoy this calm view before the party can start.

This is what a road trip in the USA is all about. Miles and miles of empty roads and vast landscapes as far as the eye can see. What I really like about this one, is the cracks in the asphalt caused by the scorching sun in these parts of the States. The yellow however is still very very bright!

This is one of my favorite shots I took on a trip from Vegas to the Grand Canyon. It is just a detail but I somehow find it quite representative of the feeling you get by traveling on the rim of the Canyon.

If you go to Montréal, Canada, don't forget to look at the building. The street art is on point there! This photo was shot near Sainte Catherine street and is a delicious example of the talent the street artists possess.
