@rinawonderlans Asian Sunday entry:

I woke up to see a sunrise, and luckily there is also a little rainbow over the sky, which is rare to see here. It's beautiful eventhought it's not a full one. The colorful sky, give a reflection color to the sea and sand. I took this pretty picture in Candidasa beach, a relaxed spot on the east Bali where you could snorkel.

Queenstown is a cute little town located on the south island of New Zealand. It build on the raffle of a gigantic lake and surrounded by the mountains. Here is a capture I shot while wandering around the lake. This man was sitting on the small pierre, chilling by the water under the branches of the tree. I wasn't going to Disturbed, so I waited patiently for him to stand up and leave!

Sometimes, if only for a moment, time seems to stand still. It’s amazing to think that 91% of the iceberg is hidden under the water. Iceberg floating of the coast of South East Alaska. It’s a single hand held exposure taken from a moving boat.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday #19 – winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo African Wednesday entry:

This is maybe the most photographed rock on La Digue. It looks like the back of an ancient animal in the sand of Anse Source D'Argent. It was really peaceful there in the evening when most of the day visitors left and people went off for dinner. If you don't fear the huge crabs that roam the beach and rocks after sunset, it's worth to stay :-)

I shot this one in the village of Kinderdijk in the south of the Netherlands. This place is best known for its 19 iconic 18th-century windmills. I waited till sunset when everything was closed, and this beautiful waterway and the windmills were bathing in the golden rays.

Vancouver, British Columbia. I was fortunate to visit the viewpoint on Cypress Mountain on a foggy October morning outside Vancouver. The lookout provides an excellent view of the city and the bridges.

The Gran Teatro de La Habana is located in the Paseo del Prado in Havana, Cuba. Its facilities include theatres, a concert hall and conference rooms. We did not go into this beautiful building, but the exterior was intricate and well restored.

Looking down at the 15th-century Inca citadel Machu Picchu, from the precipitous heights of Huayna Picchu. The peak of Huayna Picchu is about 2,720 metres (8,920 ft) above sea level, or about 360 metres (1,180 ft) higher than Machu Picchu. The only access is via approximately 2,100 slippery eroded stair steps from Machu Picchu that were carved into the side of the mountain over 500 years ago.

Is this from a helicopter?

No I hiked up there to the next mountain.

Oh - wow! :O

What a stunning image as well as great effort to hike the mountaing next to it to get this image. Well done!

Thanks !

I like to travel independently, but in places like Southern Bolivia an organized tour is the best way to go, so I booked a 4-day jeep tour crossing the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna. These four days were definitely upon the most amazing in my travels!

Beautiful. Those flamingo stars! ;) That region is definitely one of my favorites on the planet, so wild and otherworldly...

I loved it there, want to go back!

What a great image!

To get this shot of the colorful Andes in Peru, I had to get up at 3am and trekked in the thin air and ever-changing weather for a whole day. But it’s totally worth the effort, especially when I reached the 5,200-meter peak - look at the stunning view! :D

@czechglobalhosts , the photos of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, are they supposed to be submitted in the North or South America challenge? And countries like Russia, Turkey, etc., in the Asia or Europe one? Thanks! :)

Good question @itchyfeetdonica. I was wondering that myself. Beautiful picture btw!

=)

I think we have a winner. Amazing!

Thanks @keysa!

The colours are so beautiful!

Hi, thank you for your question. Geographically Central America is part of the North American Continent and Russia and Turkey belonging to Europe.

Bolivia for me is South America’s most underrated country. It combines amazing indigenous cultures, wildlife-filled Amazon Rainforest, snow-capped Andean peaks, and stunning desert all in one country. This photo shows just how colorful and breathtakingly beautiful the country is: a turquoise lake with colorful vegetation, an endless desert and large mountain tops all in one.

I really like the color of the lake bed! Is it natural colour of the rock or from moss on the rock?

The lake bed contains a lot of different vegetation, in front you see mostly moss :)

Stunning image, thank you so much for sharing. Tomas

Pajuçara Beach - Brazil

This beach is in Maceió, the capital of the state of Alagoas, in Brazil. It has calm and warm waters. These boats are called "jangada", and you can rent them out to take you to some natural pools, about 1 km away from the coast.

I've been invited to Córdoba, Argentina by three friends. I had no expectations. Arriving there i was surprised how many beautiful spots this city has to offer. Like in this picture the clash between modern architecture and an old brick building which ive shot in the afternoon, sun setting.

"San Antonio del Golfo" is a beautiful town located in Sucre State - Venezuela. I love traveling to that place for its beautiful sunsets. It is a warm place with typical Venezuelan gastronomy and crafts.

20150910_180510.jpg

This is the view of the Atacama Desert near San Pedro de Atacama before sunrise. In the distance you can see the mighty Licancabur Volcano. The white patches in the center of the frame are evaporated salt. Since it doesn't rain very often in this area, this salt turns into a white crust on the surface.

Stunning image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Greeting this is my entry to 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday #19 this picture was created in a key called horseshoe belonging to the Island the Turtle federal dependency of Venezuela, with an area of 0.41 km2 it is a fascinating place with crystal clear waters and where you can appreciate beautiful sunsets like the one I show you as additional data this picture was taken with my Smartphones ZTE Z5S (because my husband forgot to take the camera)IMG_20151024_17.jpg

Thank you so much for your entry. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Have a great day. Tomas

Photo of Bogota Cathedral (Colombia), in front of Bolivar Square. This is one of the most visited place for tourists. There are llamas in front of the Cathedral for the tourist to take photos.
The man pushing a small red cart, he carries thermo flasks of coffee and other hot drinks for sale.

The image is tilted, this was done intentionally.

I noticed there have been several wildlife entries submitted to the challenge lately, which inspired me to come up with one too. This is the brown-throated sloth, one of the symbols of Costa Rica. I took this photo right after he climbed down a tree in a jungle outside Puerto Viejo. Sloths are absolutely adorable. What a curious, smiling cutie he was! Definitely one of my coolest -ever animal encounters :))

IMG_20170903_093001.jpg

Awww, this is so quintessentially Costa Rica, haha... Did you get very close to it or use a telephoto lens?

I took this shot with my cell phone from some 40-50 cm :) it was a very intense and beautiful, face-to-face moment :) He was not afraid at all, slowly walking towards me, watching me with his curious eyes while smiling :)

SO cute! How long did it take to climb down that tree?

I would say good 20 minutes :D They are super slow, which actually only adds to their cuteness :)

Cabo Negro- Venezuela

IMG-20150808-WA0095.jpg

This is one of the paradises that Venezuela has, specifically on the island of Margarita. This place is called "Cabo Negro" and it is practically hidden since you can not get there by car, to get to this place it is climbing a mountain or arriving by boat from another beach. It is a tropical paradise, since as you can see it has two parts where the sea water arrives, on the right side there is hot water and on the left side the water is very cold. It is a beautiful place to spend the day and even to camp.

Pink Flamingos
I took this picture in El Calafate, Argentina. The colour of the water of Lake Argentino is really beautiful and I think the contrast of its blue waters with the pink from the flamingos worked out really well.

The "Bondinho Pão de Açúcar" It is one of the most beautiful attractions of the city of Rio de Janeiro. This joins the different monolithic granite mountains that rise to the edge of the sea in the bay.

This is Ecuador, this is the park where the monument of the center of the world is located. right here passes the equator, the place is impressive, an activity in this park is to put an egg on a nail, this is standing in a vertical thing that we can not do elsewhere with more degrees or fewer degrees than the center of the world

Holland? Switzerland?

No, this is actually in Argentina. The town of Trevelin, in the Patagonian Argentine province of Chubut, is a Welsh settlement. Because this is in the South Hemisphere, the seasons are opposite to those in the North, therefore the tulips here bloom in October. This field is about 15 km from the centre of town, on route 259.

Beautiful!

During a short stay in Tupiza, Bolivia, we decided to go hiking to see the Inca canyon. We arrived at the canyon 3 hours later since we took the long path and stopped a few time to admire a lot of rock formation and cactus along the way.

IMG_2461.JPG

This is my participation in Photo Challenge - South American Saturday #19 This photo that I present to you was taken in a sunset from the highest place that has the island Gran Roque capital of a set of Islands belonging to the federal dependency of Venezuela the Gran Roques Island has an area of 1.7 km2 its inhabitants are very friendly with tourists and their water captivates those who visit them.

I would like to introduce to you one more beautiful Brazilian island - Ubatuba. There is so much space on its beaches that it is enough place for everybody who come here. The day when I was there, the sea was not calm, so I just took pictures :)

P1040350.JPG

Aruba is a Dutch colony island and is located near Venezuela, with beautiful beaches and a collection of giant stones this island has an impressive architecture. something that surprised me about this place is that all the hotels make an expense to feed sharks in one place to take them away from the beaches of tourists

No picture of a breathtaking landscape, but an intimate encounter with these fantastic animals. Taken with an underwater camera when I was snorkeling in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. It was a lucky shot. Coming into contact with wildlife, it will always be my number 1 while traveling.

Haha, how cute! =) Nice shot.

Christ the Redeemer- Brazil

10502140_10152247548736984_5961123566371567308_n.jpg

One of the best places I have visited in South America is Brazil, and I had the good fortune to visit the "Christ the Redeemer". The views are beautiful and after seeing it in so many movies, seeing this in person was the best ... I recommend all those who visit this beautiful country to go through this place, no matter their religion or beliefs. The good energy you feel in this place is indescribable.

Hi! Unfortunately I see the exact same image on the internet which raises the question if this really is your own image. Kindly provide an ownership. From time to time I do a screen-check of new users in order to stop plagiarism on Steemit which is a serious issue.

The Mucubají Lagoon, it is located in the Sierra Nevada Park, in the state of Merida, Venezuela. It is one of the largest lagoons in the region. It is believed that the name of the lagoon is due to the name of the indigenous inhabitants of the region. Mucubají means in this language "large water site". The lagoon is of glacial origin and is about ten thousand years old.

What a beautiful planet we live in🌎🌍🌏
