Santa Catalina Monastery in Arequipa, Peru

The monastery Santa Catalina in Arequipa, Peru is a city inside of the city and features many lanes with buildings in different colours. I enjoyed exploring the colourful alleys of the monastery before returning to Arequipa's old town that is mostly built of white, volcanic stone.

Nature is amazing in many aspects. One of them is for sure wind with his power to create stuning natural sights. One of them are desert sand dunes and South America offer many beautiful examples.

Quedraba del Condoritos, Cordoba, Argentina. Yes we saw condors, but we also saw beautiful landscape during the hike to get to the view point. The park is part of a 150,000 hectare protected area of a provincial reserve. It is an important “pond” of condors, an endangered species in South America.

At the south of Venezuela, the landscape has a very particular shape. The mountains are in the shapes of plateaux, these mountains are called tepuy (plural teuyes). One of the most famous is the Auyantepuy, shown in the photo. The famous Angel’s fall is located in this mountain. The photo was taken from the Carrao River.

Sunset on the Atabapo River!

Atardecer en Atabapo2.jpg

The Atabapo River is located between Venezuela and Colombia and is born in the jungles of southern Venezuela, in the Maroa municipality of Amazonas state. Its waters are blackish and in the late afternoon you can see spectacular multicolored sunsets and make a beautiful contrast with the jungle and the different boats of the residents of the area mostly indigenous.

The rivers of the Apure state in Venezuela, a region known as Los Llanos (The Plains), not only have a lot of fauna diversity but also spectacular landscapes to get lost exploring...
