Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday.

Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of South America.

Sunset on the Atabapo River! The Atabapo River is located between Venezuela and Colombia and is born in the jungles of southern Venezuela, in the Maroa municipality of Amazonas state. Its waters are blackish and in the late afternoon you can see spectacular multicolored sunsets and make a beautiful contrast with the jungle and the different boats of the residents of the area mostly indigenous.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 A.M. Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words.

Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge.

Best 10 entries will receive a 10% upvote and other valid entries will get a 5% upvote from me. Out of those best 10 entries, one winner and one runner-up will be picked. Their entries will be shared on Appics in separate posts and they will receive my upvotes on their posts as the reward. The winner will get my 100% upvote and the runner-up will get my 50% upvote on Steemit and on Appics too if their posts were posted through Appics.

Araya penisula

The Araya peninsula is located in the Sucre state, north of Cumaná Venezuela, it is an arid and dry place, as well as world famous for its salt flats. It has great tourist potential thanks to its beautiful beaches and the old Spanish fortress located next to the beaches. This image is in the vicinity of the salt mines

On my South American journey I visited spectacular places Iguazu Falls, Torres del Pine and many others, but most impressive was still Atacama desert. I expected something similar to Yellowstone NP which was the best NP for me so far and Atacama came close...

The view from the top of Isla del Sol is perfect everywhere we look. I knew It is the biggest island on Lake Titicaca but I did not know that its original name was Isla Titicaca, and it is it who gave her name to the big lake.

Cabo Polonio, Uruguay

On the flat coast of Uruguay there's a hidden place, away from any facilities of modern life, no electricity, no piped water; only the tranquility of a small fisherman village, a few hippies and an astonishing lighthouse - that is Cabo Polonio.
