7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – South American Saturday week #25 – winner announcement!

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello fellow Steemians!

It is my great pleasure to announce the winner of 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday. I would like to say huge thank you to all the participants for their great entries. The number of entries yesterday was very good with high-quality images so it was extremely hard to decide on the winning one. I encourage you to check the entries as they really were all stunning.

You can see all entries and participants in this post: 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday week #25 - the absolute winner takes 200 SBD!

Please give a huge shout out to the best ten competitors for taking part in the challenge and sharing their photos and experience with all of us here on Steemit:

@photofreediver @jman27 @itchyfeetdonica @schmidthappens @ajrivas93 @unataldani @jlgc @francismoure @kylestam @nuestrasideas

It would be great if you can visit their blogs and appreciate their awesome photography skills with some upvotes.

However, the winner is only one and that is for me the picture posted by @jman27 with the following entry:

Here are some flamingoes in Lake Hedionda in the highlands of Bolivia. I always thought of flamingoes as tropical birds and was stunned to see them in this partially frozen lake at over 4000 meters above sea level.

What a great contribution from @jman27 to the weekly photo challenge! I have visited @jman27 blog and upvoted his post called: Three Hikers in Huaraz, Peru. @jman27 amazing entry from Bolivia is qualifying for the weekly challenge where it will be competing against the previous and upcoming winners of the week:

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #25 – winner announcement!

@photofreediver Asian Sunday entry:

When I participated in an expedition on on the island of Sakhalin, the bay "Silent" which is in 150 kilometers to the north of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk became one of points of our travel. It has appeared the amazing place with the mountains, improbable on beauty, entirely covered with the juicy-green woods and the tender ocean washing the sandy coast. Absolute paradise for fans of quiet rest with tents, for fishermen and of course for photographers!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #25 – winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

So here is another entry from beautiful Australia again. This one is a view I found near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. There are many viewpoints in the area, the most popular being the Three Sisters view. But if you wander along the extensive network of trails along the rim you can also find beautiful views like this, which you will have for yourself.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #25 – winner announcement!

@narchuk Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans entry:

It was an amazing meeting in the Andaman Sea. Our group dived first and we were lucky to see one manta ray. But the current in that place was so strong that we spent all the air for about 20 minutes. As a result, we came to the surface at the same time when the second group just descended. And we managed to quickly change the tanks and dive a second time. The second dive was long and calm. This lasted about an hour. And at the very end, when we were about to emerge, I saw two manta rays in the depths. All I needed was for a quick dive and only 3 photos. Then I had to come up. It's amazing that no one else saw these manta rays. As if I imagined them)

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #25 – winner announcement!

@fjorenca African Wednesday entry:

When one thinks of the desert, images of yellow rolling sand dunes come to mind. The White Desert of Egypt is nothing like that. This unique scenery of tan and chalk-white landscape is dotted with alien shapes, boulders of brilliant white which thrust up from the surface of the desert. We camped in this dramatic landscape left by an ancient ocean, far far away from civilization.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – European Thursday week #25 – winner announcement!

@ansharphoto with the following entry:

Saint Stephen Basilica in the Morning, Budapest

Ecclesiastical buildings are almost always breathtaking, and this one is no exception. A large, intricate mosaic marks the entry to the basilica (it’s so beautiful that I decided to make it the focus of the shot), and the building’s interior is magisterial. The monumental size of the basilica is really only apparent from the inside, where various marbles and precious stones shimmer in candlelight.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – North American Friday week #25 – winner announcement!

@derekkind North American Friday entry:

Mount Assiniboine, the "Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies", in British Columbia. Visiting Assiniboine requires either a long hike or a helicopter ride. I backpacked in and spent a couple of days in what may be the most spectacular part of Canada.

beautiful landscapes and pictures, very good pictures @czechglobalhosts

Sad that I wasn't able to post my pictures for this contest, since my girlfriend has all the copies and she wasn't available.. though I did find one hidden in the cloud. So I'll just post it here regardless as a late after thought ;).

A picture made during a trek we did on the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentinian Patagonia, a wonderful experience! I should have brought sun block though, I got severly sunburned due to the glacier reflecting the sun's intensity on my pale skin. A shower was pure torture for a week after, but well worth it!

Well there is always a next South American Saturday :)

I didnt realize it was every week

Yes, no worries :)

Good afternoon you take, I think you should check the last winner of South America because it can be a plagiarism

Foto 1.png

The 54 results are identical photos in different pages, some of which are from Bolivia and are on the internet since 2015
I hope it is clarified and verified

If you look at the photo on Shutterstock you'll see it is copyright Jess Kraft and if you look at my #introduceyourself post you'll see that I'm Jess Kraft. So yeah, obviously not plagiarism. Thanks though.

I see, I apologize is awesome the photo and see it on the internet in so many places confused me, congratulations for your work

You know even you were wrong about your call I do appreciate the check up. I am also glad @jman27 cleared your concern. Have a great night. Tomas
