@best-trip-eva Asian Sunday entry:

Sunrise at Mt. Rinjani (3,726 meters or 12,224 ft). This is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Mt. Agung - the highest volcano on Bali island, which recently erupted - is visible on the back-right. All three of the Gili Islands can be seen before it. On the left side in the clouds the perfect cone shape of Rinjani is visible. The picture was taken the end of August 2017 and the trekking of the volcano was the highlight of my journey in Indonesia.

On my first visit to New Zealand I spent a night in downtown Auckland. Early in the morning I made my way to a bridge from where I could overlook the skyline and some interesting intersections below. With a longtime exposure I could create a nice effect for the photo.

Almost every day and especially on Sunday crowded young people who come to enjoy and capture the sunset in Lhoknga. One of them is Sunset Surf Cafe which is a cafe directly opposite to the sunset.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #29 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:

This dune looks amazing - until you attempt to climb it! The sand makes it really hard to lift your feet and the strong winds are not improving the situation. However, the view from the top of this dune in the Moroccan Sahara totally made up for that and watching the colours of the majestic dunes slowly change during golden hour was one of the most amazing sunsets I have seen on my travels!

In a small sentence I could summarize by "by far the best museum ever! "
So yes I liked, because absolutely everything is splendid in this museum, since the very singular architecture (part of the building is vintage -1912- the other was completely redone in modern style in 2004), until to the collections it contains. Royal Ontario Museum-Toronto Canada

El Capitolio or the National Capitol Building, was the seat of government in Cuba until the Cuban Revolution in 1959.It is a replica of the one found in Washington. It was being renovated when I visited so we couldn’t go inside but the whole area around it is worth exploring.

Awesome shot. The old fashioned cars really make this picture stand out.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Have a great weekend :) T.

One day I just have to make it to Cuba:)... Great entry!

Question @czechglobalhosts

There are some photos entered in this contest that although they are beautiful, even wonderful shots, they are not from South America.

Will you be considering them for a future Central or North American contest instead?

Beautiful pristine nature full of exotic wildlife at the Bri Bri Waterfalls in the Limon Province, Costa Rica. If I could submit a video instead of photo, you would be able to hear the incredible sounds of Costa Rican jungle, a mixture of sounds produced by cicadas, howler monkeys, tropical birds etc. The nature and wildlife of Costa Rica is truly outstanding.

IMG_20170906_100244.jpg

So peaceful looking. This looks like such a great place to be right now. I would love to hear the howler monkeys.

I will post the video too once I figure out how D-Tube works :))

......and Costa Rica:)

This looks like it was so cold, but I am glad that you braved the cold to get this awesome shot for us. That reflection is so cool.

The more I see those beautiful images of the Torres del Paine the more I want to visit this magnificent place. One day! For now happy to receive those beautiful images in my challenge. Thank you so much! Tomas

Yes, Bolivia - a traveler's dream and a photographer's paradise. From my photo here, you see Laguna Colorada (Red Lagoon), a shallow salt lake that is 4000 meters above sea level in the altiplano. The color is caused by red sediments and pigmentation of some algae. This stunning lake is home to nearly-extinct flamingos.

coloradaflamingo.jpg

Amazing photo. I bet the smell was horrible when you got close, but flamingos are so cool to look at and seeing so many of them would be really fun.

Thanks Wes! I couldn’t get too close as it’s protected, and this is the closest my poor lens could reach. :)

Wow, very happy to get this rare image entering the contest! Well done!

What a stunning photo to capture these colour combinations

I had this photo all ready to go as soon as your post came out, and then I saw your featured photo!!! Anway, since I've prepared it, I might as well still post it.

The Incans terraces at Moray isn't one of the man tourist destinations but was recommended to me by the taxi driver who I booked for a tour around the Sacred Valley. It's one of the places where you have to see with your own eyes and still wonder, have we really progressed that far in the past 1000 years or so?
sc52.jpg

Actually that is fantastic to get the entry matching my invitation image. Great job.

Thank you! I was actually quite hesitant to post it initially when I saw the one you used.

Sunrise on Pico Bolívar- An epic view from the Peak "La Concha" towards Pico Bolívar at sunrise.

The Pico Bolívar is the highest mountain in Venezuela. The famous attraction is named after Simón Bolívar, who is a hero of Venezuelan independence.

Truly stunning image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Rurrenabaque is the gateway to the Amazon Rainforest in Bolivia. It sits on the banks of the Beni River and while waiting in town to head into the Amazon there is not much to do other than climb a nearby hill to get a view in the late afternoon.

rurrenabaque_hilly_sunset_river_beni_hdr_reduced1.jpg

This is a phenomenal picture. Amazing job. It looks like a painting. The layers of the mountains through the fog is so cool looking.

Thanks! I was lucky to hike up the hill on just the right day.

Just beautiful! What else to say!

When I visited Machu Picchu, I had quite low expectations. In fact, I expected it to be a place full of tourists with only one famous viewpoint. I was so surprised when I arrived at the Incan city and realised that it was actually possible to walk inside the ruins! It was inside the ruins of Machu Picchu where I captured this photo.

04-jpp-20151023.jpg

Wow! What a stunning image, truly tremendous. Thank you kindly!

I felt exactly the same! I was hesitant to visit this famous place for fear of the over-crowdedness. And when I hiked there, I was stunned by the harmony between the ruins and the natural setting, and I was lucky to have experienced the sun, the rain and the fairyland shrouded by mist later on. I stayed there a whole day and was reluctant to leave. Totally different experience than I imagined! =)

Thanks for your comment, I left a reply below the post in my blog :)

We went to a lake in Patagonia (South America) in 2018 and were likely the first people on the planet to visit there (it required a helicopter). The story of this visit is seen the the post below. A beautiful wild place. This is without filters or photoshop alteration. We like the contrast between the clouds and the lake and the glacially-scoured rocks. Enjoy. Thanks!

iguazu.png

Among the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, the Iguazú Falls are the most visited natural attraction of the province of Misiones and one of the most impressive in Argentina and the world. In the Guaraní language, the term Iguazú translates as large waters, a beautiful place to know and be together with nature.

For me, it is often the people of the area that highlight the area's character best! This young lady and her friend live near Machu Qullqa, in the highlands of the Sacred Valley, one of the many beautiful areas of Peru.

IMG_0128.JPG

So true, the people are what make the place special. It's not always about the scenery. Great shot to show the culture of the area.

Totally agree!

iguazu waterfalls ,in Brazil...Having fun, traveling and being happy is one of human instinctual needs. Even poverty does not prevent this need from being heard.Traveling balances our imagination with facts and allows us to see them rather than thinking about how things are.Just like the rainbow behind us ...

This photograph, in fact, can be as magical as it seems.

It was taken in a sunset on Isla de Coche, Nueva Esparta, Venezuela.
It was achieved through the harmony between the sun, sky, accompanied by the protagonist this beautiful flower.

Today I bring you a night shot of the beautiful Copacabana Beach, framed between mountains covered with green vegetation, bounded by the Forts of Leme and Copacabana, Copacabana beach is undoubtedly the most famous beach in Rio de Janeiro and throughout Brazil and one of its unmissable tourist attractions. Hope you like it.

This photo is of a catamaran on a hike, in Los Roques there are many species of birds, this is one of them, they are everywhere. This is one of my favorite places and the blue tones bring peace and serenity. Definitely worth knowing.

Waterfall near Baños, Ecuador. This region of Ecuador was one of my favorite. It was so lush and there was so much to do. I can't wait to go back. This particular waterfall is formed by the waters of the Pastaza River that drops over 61 meters into a ravine located in the Western Cordillera.

"Valdez" beach, besides being a fishing port where fishing boats anchor and fishermen rest, it's also a beautiful bay with calm waters and soft sand. It's ideal to go with family and enjoy the sea. It's located in Porlamar (Venezuela) after the "La Caracola" beach.

Cascade of pre-Columbian inspiration, located in the lower station of the aerial tramway of Monserrate hill (Bogotá, Colombia). The Monserrate hill has an altitude of 3,170 meters and at the top is the Sanctuary of the Lord of Monserrate, popular pilgrimage site

DSC01566.JPG

Hi everyone in Steemit, this is my first place in South America, this time I went to a beach very close to the house and I launched this beautiful sunset, which I took advantage of. It is interesting how Venezuela has extraordinary hidden places in every corner that we do not all know. Here I show you this.

A view of Bogotá, from Monserrate. This photo was taken at more than 3100 meters above sea level. At the top of Monserrate hill there is a church, which is a place of peregrination. At the hill in front (of the photo) there is other sanctuary of Guadalupe (located at Guadalupe hill).
This is a panoramic photo obtained after stitching four photos.

All the pictures are so beautiful, really to see your posts, any people will love it.

One corner of Avenida de Mayo, was the first boulevard that the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, had. According to the story, the initial idea was to make an avenue similar to a typical French boulevard, but in the end dominated the Spanish airs, it was transformed over time into a symbol of Argentine-Spanish relations, and on stage of all social events in Buenos Aires. It was the first avenue of the Republic and of all South America.

A sunset in Medanos de Coro, Sand dunes located in the northern west of Venezuela, taken around 2009, I managed to capture while the wind was blowing sand over the sun.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Amazing pic in an amazing place. los Medanos is one of the most beautiful locations in Venezuela, I can feel the movement in this picture and some kind of loneliness with all the heat that transmits those orange colours... You really made an great photo, Venezuela is just a lovely place.

The sunsets are one of my favorite pastimes, how lucky it is to live on an island with these landscapes. This is a sunset at La Galera beach on the island of Margarita, Venezuela. These twilights are considered one of the most beautiful in the country.

DSC05658.JPG

Hi Steemans, here I show you a landscape, from the Parque la Llovizna, Puerto Ordaz. beautiful park that has many places to take photos, this time I show you, with the Caroni River, Orinoco, Cachamay, Loefling and tip view, with 30 connected islands, plus 160 hectares. Location through San Felix, near the Macagua II dam.

There is nothing better than traveling, enjoying a beach and ending contemplating a beautiful sunset. Without a doubt, one of the best pleasures of life. All this in one place: La Romana, Republica Dominicana.

It is not perfect, but it is a beautiful composition i am very proud of.

This is the view to the left during day time as i'm not sure you are expecting more of a representative landscape than a composition.
