Hello everyone,
Let me introduce you to a great Steemian and contributor to my daily 200 Steem 7 World's Continents Photo Challenge, an amazing photographer @axeman. Let's give him some recognition and a shout out. In combination with the color challenge, it is a great place to highlight his photo skills and give his hard work some extended publicity and appreciation.
For today's color challenge I picked his entry below:
Endangered species. Taken from archives from 2016 and just freshly retouched - next from the series of "Endangered Species" - another rare Baltic Beast came from the sea to enjoy this calm and colorful sunset.
Shot at the beach of Curonian Spit. Wide angle lens and lower shooting point to get a bit of reflection and sand patterns. Camera on tripod and LEE filters used as usual. Post-production and color grading in LR+PS. Enjoy the scenery!
To give @axeman a little support, I am upvoting one of his recent posts. Feel free to join me.
Please feel free to check out some of my other recent posts.

Thomas, well, honestly speaking. Not taking in consideration idea of the contest, which is completely other story, but it looks pretty strange for me when you actually earning quite a big upvotes for posting my photo (in this particular non-contest post) with your standard text.
Understand it is some post-promotion idea behind, but believe me it doesn't work and nobody actually cares to come and support.
And when my actual post of this photo (and with some additional comments just copied here and camera information and so on) earns much less, it pisses me off really....

Hello Ruslan and thank you for your feedback! Every featured image from my contests receives fairly significant upvote from myself. Firstly, when entered it gets upvoted by 10% with my SP, then winning daily image from the 7WCPC gets 70% upvote with my SP and chosen picture for the color challenge gets 30% on their recent post. Like that I have given out tens of thousand of rewards in Steem and SBD upvotes. Besides that I have sent thousands of free Steem and SBD to the weekly, monthly and yearly winners. There are numerous number of people that have build their blogs with the help of either my curation or the visibility they received from my contests. I am planning some changes to my contests from next year that will increase my given curation on daily basis to those participating. I did invest considerable amount of money and time into Steem and do expect some ROI as well. There are people that do upvote my posts and there are some that never do. I do not see that as a concern for me, that is only their choice. With the Steem landscape changing due to recent HF it is not random to receive a significant curation from those that were running bid bots previously. That should be seen positively especially for those like myself that give back and therefore increase the value of the Steem blockchain. But then not everyone can be happy and shares the same opinion. Those that do not share those views are in no way obligated to participate in my contests. There are always people that will be happy and grateful and those that will be bitching and complaining. With that being said I wish you a great weekend.

As I have mentioned in the beginning, this talk is not concerning the daily contest posts and given prizes. All is fine and everybody is participating on a good will knowing consequences.
I;m trying to rise the question only of those color challenges which are actually are reposts of other photographers works. And while your self upvote is 4$ and upvote given to the the represented photographer is about 1$... the total you get on this fine example is 23$... And question is as long as i'm the author and mostly my text is there.. where is the trick and why?
Earlier when whales were not too much about curation the situation was completely different, but now everything changes

Didn't you choose to enter?
It would be easy for him to set beneficiaries for the authors he is promoting.
Clearly he is using your content to earn on in exchange for visibility.
It's a choice as long as you willingly entered. If it isn't worth it to you, don't enter.

Yes, this photo was an entry to actual weekly contest, which results announced in due course. At this point there is no any problem with it, if photo used for a winners announcement post.
But definitely not for some another single post (even copying my text) and this is what I wanted to discuss.
It is not only about myself, but other photographers photos used for similar posts. Though some of them maybe happy.... who knows
And at this point yes, looking where the situation is going to just have to consider my further participation then...
