Czech Republic - introductory information

Hello friends,

This was one of my first posts that I put together for you over 2 months ago. It is a short introduction of the Czech Republic that is basically the center of attention of my blog. Since the steemit platform and the number of my followers are growing, I thought it would be good for the ones that joined me recently to give some basic info about the coutry as not everyone is or will be familiar with it.

LOCATION - even though a lot of people are placing the Czech Republic into Eastern Europe, it is not geographically correct since as you can see from the map below we are located right in the center of Europe. The central location makes the Czech Republic easily accessible not only from the neighboring countries of Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria but also from other European cities since the major European locations can be reached within 1 hour flight time in or out of Prague. I would highly recommend to join the visit of Prague together with other European location especially if you are coming from the over-seas. I will give you some tips on easily accessible locations in my upcoming posts so you can make the best out of your travels.

CAPITAL CITY - Prague - without exaggeration Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the number one reason the Czech Republic gets increasing number of visitors pouring into the city in millions year after year. As much as I love Prague and believe it should be on your bucket list if you are serious about your travels do not make a mistake of sticking to Prague only. The last thing you want to do is to be just another tourist scrolling the streets of downtown area while there is much more to see beyond Prague! POPULATION - as per United Nations latest estimate cited in worldmeters.info the current population of the Czech Republic is 10,554,798 inhabitants which equals to 0,145 of the total world population and ranks as number 87 in the list of countries of the population. The largest city is the capital Prague with population around 1mil.

CLIMATE - what I like about living in the Czech Republic is the four season weather. I believe the best time to visit is months of May/June and then September/October. Summers can be really hot reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius while winters can get really cold, some -20 degrees Celsius during extreme winters which wouldn't really happen very often. If you are planning to come during winter though try to plan your trip so you can catch Christmas Markets in Prague that were voted between top 10 in the world last year.
