View of the Buchlovice Chateau, a stunning example of Baroque architecture found near the town of Uherske Hradiste, Czech Republic. Located next to the medieaval castle of the same name (Buchlovice), the chateau features refined architectural style of the Italian baroque villa, numerous collections of artworks and stylish old furniture. Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words. I will then go through your submissions and upvote those that meet the requirements. Let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

I am really happy to see more and more great photos being submitted to this challenge every day. Yesterday was no exception, we had several awesome entries featured in the photo challenge, including this amazing aerial view of Prague by our regular contributor @narchuk with the following description:

I started to travel quite a long time, about 15 years ago. The Czech Republic was one of the first countries I came to. Copters were not invented yet. The only way to look at some place from above was the observation deck. And I regularly tried to visit all the observation platforms. It's very exciting to look down on the city. All this looks like an amazing toy.
I still do not miss an opportunity to climb a tower or a mountain.

In the Castle complex of Prague, there are many different architectonic styles. This photo shows the main tower of St. Vitus Cathedral and the Obelisk. The Obelisk is a memorial of WWI and it was erected in the late 1920's. The Tower of St. Vitus is Baroque style, it contrasts with the Gothic style of the main façade of the Cathedral.

Huge metallic sculptures of alpacas found on the top of the botanical garden in Troja, Prague. There are dozens of these bizarre sculptures in the botanical garden, most of which were designed by the famous Czech artist Lukas Rais. I took this shot with my cell phone on a chilly December day in 2014.

Chateau Kravaře is one of the most important baroque buildings in Silesia. It is located in the large quiet park with golf course. It´s perfect place for Sunday family trip with lunch in chateau restaurant.

Picture taken at the Adrspach-Teplice rocks around Eastern 2017.

Being here puts your fantasy at full creativity, because you can picture different scenes while looking at the rocks. This one for example looks like two persons kissing each other, a fat one and a skinny one. I cannot remember if there is a name for this one.

After a long day enjoying and learning about the heritage of Prague on a free walking tour, we decided to walk up hill to get a view from above. We had a fantastic experience joining the free walking tour and recommend it. I have the impression the guides always give their best in the free walking tours. We were rather exhausted and did expect a cool view but when we arrived on the top of the hill it looked much more beautiful than we had imagined.

Stunning pic!

Thanks :)

Villa Müller (Nad Hradním vodojemem str. 642/14), located in Prague's district of Střešovice, is the house that was designed originally by Adolf Loos for Mr. Frantisek Müller and his wife, Milada Müller. The villa built in 1928-30 is considered to be the chef-d'oeuvre of the international architectural avant-garde. The construction of the villa is strictly functionalist. It's evident in the multi-level parts of individual rooms.

This picture was taken at the OLD TOWN SQUARE, one of the most famous squares in Prague. It's like a big meeting of tourists, horse-drawn carriages, doves and artists making music. I really liked it and hope to be there again one day :)

I love your picture!

thanks a lot :)

Hi Tomas. I think you missed my photo from yesterday, so I'll just drop it again. ;)

If you walk around St Vitus Cathedral in Prague you'll see all sorts of interesting doors and details. This is the detail I captured on one of its doors. You can see the parts that people touch most when 'investigating' the detail.

IMG_9549.JPG

Good luck with the rest of the week everyone, halfway there... almost weekend!

Some more shadow action on the doors of St Vitus. Those doors are more than twice as tall as the person standing on the side. Now, I do not remember how tall that person was, but, those are pretty tall doors right there.....

Exploring the streets of #Paris at night :-) — in Paris, France.

Next to the Powder Tower (65 meters high, in the 15th century they were thought of as a gate, one of the entrances to the Old Town.) The gates were not completed, later they were used to store gunpowder.
(on the right in the photo) is located Stylish building - Public house. In 1918, independence of Czechoslovakia was proclaimed in this house. The gunpowder tower and the house are connected by a gallery.

Liberec Countryside
This picture was taken approximately 22 kilometers from Liberec - city with 100 000 habitants located in the North of Czech Republic. And this is how the ordinary landscape around Liberec looks - There are mostly hills and long meadows among them.

Beautiful photo and composition!
Thank you!

I was exploring Brno, visited two botanical gardens and few beautiful parks that day. I just felt so small compared to this giant!

Platanus x acerifolia

I can not really understand the description on the sign except that it has 5.53m circumference of the trunk(measured in 2014) and that protective circle has 17.6m radius. so in addition to this beauty I will add another photo.

I took this picture last winter on my way to the Castle of Prague. Even though it´s a really cold city is worth to visit it on Christmas, the lights and Christmas decoration makes it even more beautiful.

O wow, it looks fab. I haven't been to czech repulic so I don't have my own picture but I hope one day I will visit it.
I must say from the pictures it looks very beautiful.

Not every building is beautiful in Prague. Of course, you will not find this kind of building in the city center but I wanted to share this picture to show you that Prague is also a city like every other city, with abandoned buildings. This is a bit farer than the O2 Arena (from the center) so I guess it's in Prague 9 too. There are several buildings like this one in this area and some are still used. For example, in the top of one of them, artists share the floor the do their work.

Thanks to this contest, I began to re-view my photos. It brought many wonderful memories)

Most of my trips to the Czech Republic took place in the winter. It was getting dark on the street pretty quickly. But all the main tourist places have highlights. And you can see the city in a new appearance. Also, the lights are reflected on the surface of the water. This complements the overall impression.
Prague night

This is a picture form the bottom of pertin hill after my first time to the top. Walking down the hit was interesting as the sun was setting. I thought the lights looked really nice glowing through the trees at night.

A photo I took from the Charles bridge. I had never before seen as many swans in one location as I had in Prague. They lined the sides of the river and waited for many to throw them food and bread.

The view from Charles Bridge in Prague. In the picture is an upscale restaurant riverside overlooking the Charles Bridge. The nights in Prague are equally beautiful with the lovely swans around the Vltava river. Apart from this restaurant a traveler may find many good options in Old Town Square which is a walk just across the the bridge.

@czechglobalhosts Hi, Guess you missed this picture and also the one posted the day earlier. Or was it intentional? Anything wrong with the posts? Just needed to know.

The photo with this great view was taken from the Strekov castle. The Strekov Castle is actually a great vantage point, from which you have a magnificent view of the surrounding scenery. We'll see the river Elbe and the village Vanov on the right side. Vanov belongs to Ústí nad Labem-Město. On the left side we'll see a part of the village Strekov.

@czechglobalhosts
beautiful drown

Great personal style is an extreme curiosity about yourself.

You might of missed this one cos of your timezone difference.

Sharing a picture taken at night. After dinner if we still have energy from our morning travels, we will go out to take night shots when we travel. Prague from memory was very quiet at night and taking our night strolls was very pleasant. The things you see during the day gives a different vibe during the night.

Great, you can check my last posts, thank you !

Never been to Prague/Czech Republic. From the photos I can see that its such a beautiful country.
