Traditional windmill with beautiful landscape of rural Czech Republic in the background in Kuzelov, a small village located in the Southern Moravian region of the country. Dominated by the windmill, an important technical monument, the village is home to just 400 people. Source: Shutterstock, author: Miiisha

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words. I will then go through your submissions and upvote those that meet the requirements. Let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

I am really happy to see more and more great photos being submitted to this challenge every day. Yesterday was no exception, we had several awesome entries featured in the photo challenge, including this amazing panoramic image taken by our regular contributor @jpphotography with the following description:

View on Prague Castle. I love this view over the Vltava river on the Prague Castle. The huge castle is actually the biggest in the world and was built in the 9th century. It is home of the Prague Cathedral and nowadays seat of the head of state of the Czech Republic.

This is a tower in Prague that caught my attention when I visited a few months ago. I loved how the lone tall tower simply jutted high into the sky. It turns out the tower and adjoining buildings are an important part of Prague history. This is a tower of the old wastewater treatment plant for the city built from 1901-06 that served Prague until 1967. In 2010, this building was declared a cultural monument. You can take tours of this facility that includes a still functional steam engine room. It's a great testament to invention and progress.

Window view from Hotel Domino in Most, photo taken February 2012. In the center of the photo you see Letní stadion Most, home of (former) football club FK Baník Most.

Sometimes its best to get out of the rush and just look up in Prague. Here my wife Riana is admiring the details of the St Vitus Cathedral in Prague. Construction of this cathedral started in 1344 and it is a testament to the architecture of that time.

Man Hanging Out
Sigmund Freund is hanging on his right hand above the street. The sculpture by artist David Cerny is located between Husova and Skorepka street. It symbolizes Freund's, who was born in Freiberg, which is a town in the Czech Republic now, struggle with many phobias during his lifetime.

Photo of one of the main gates to Castle Complex in Prague, where the Presidential residence is located. In the entrance there are some guards and there is a ceremony for changing of the guards. In the Castle complex there are different architectonic styles. In the photo the gate and sculptures of the mythological figures are in Baroque style.

I found this beautiful red Skoda Felicia Cabriolet in the center of the small village Hrensko. Hrensko is located near the border to Germany. This beautiful car was produced from 1959 to 1964 and a total of 14,863 Felicias were produced in the Czech Republic.

This place is away from the city center, but still quite easy to get to, no crowded with tourists. This is Hostivař reservoir, the largest lake in Prague. Worth a visit!
Enjoy your Sunday, Tomas. Relax and Smile;)

beautiful beer feet and blue skies!
Cheers ;)

Thanks :)

Walking through the old town of Prague this building caught my eye as it stood out from the rest of the off color rectangular buildings that line the streets. The cobblestone streets made dragging my rolling bag a pain getting from place to place but added to the experience of Prague.

The thumbnail shot of the windmill reminded me of a similar photo I took a few years ago in Rudice, a small town located in the Moravian Karst. These vintage windmills are typical for the Netherlands but in fact, they can be found in the Czech Republic too. Some of them are now considered technical monuments.

Kostel sv. Františka z Asissi or in english language Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Prague.
They are selling tickets for classic music concert at this place. You can find it on Křižovnické street, Staré Město, Praha 1. Ccc-francis.jpeg

small and very beautiful city of Cesky Krumlov. It's especially nice to stay there for a few days. Then you can walk the streets, at a time when most of the tourists leave. This is the best time to feel the peculiarity of this place.
Krumlov

Baeutiful @narchuk

Thank you!

Another beautiful we found at the Charles Bridge overlooking the water. You find a few of them along the bridge and they seem to just look out. To me, they are like guardian angels looking after the people around the town.

A made this foto 15 kilometres from Sychrov Castle and editing in photoshop was done by my girlfriend. On the photo we can see a very old cemetery with a mist around. This photo was taken two weeks ago so there is still also small amount of snow . :-D

Hauntingly beautiful! With a touch of Tarkovsky! :)

Thank you :-) I was at the right moment at the right place.

Beautiful shot!

Thank you very much! :)

The ruins of the New Castle at Kunratice, a royal Gothic castle in the Kunratice Forest on a wooded promontory surrounded by the Kunratický stream. It is located in the Kunratice district of Prague. The ruin is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1958. The construction of the castle was ordered by King Václav IV. in 1411, and since 1412 there was the king's residence in the castle. In 1419 the king died here and in 1421 the New Castle was destroyed by the Hussite army.

For today I have chosen to upload one more monument, it is not my fault that Prague has so many great ones!

Writings on the front side of this terrifying winged lion says:

"He fights for freedom, one of freedom's sons, lone in his aery sphere of blue and bronze" William kean Seymour 1887-1975.

In the post preview I could not see what is written on the side so here is the whole text.

This monument is an expression of the British community lasting gratitude to the 2500 Czechoslovak airmen who served with the Royal Air Force between 1940 and 1945 for the freedom of Europe. Many were subsequently persecuted by the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia.
It was unveiled by the right honourable Sir Nicholas Soames MP on 17th June 2014.
It is a gift to the Czech and Slovak people from the British community living and working in the Czech and Slovak republics.

Astronomical Clock Tower - The oldest Astronomical Clock still operating. You can see a huge crowd gathered around here to see it chime on the hour. Its an interesting Master Piece which dates back to the 15th Century.
The clock was severely damaged by the Nazis during Prague uprising. Read an interesting legend online about this clock, that the city of Prague will suffer if this 600Year old clock is every neglected. Don't think that such a marvelous historical tower can ever be ignored!

The Milovy pond in the Czech-Moravian Highlands. Well known place for me, because every November we go there for “The father’s weekend”, where only fathers with children go. The shot was taken during another September weekend I spent there with my ex-classmates.

Hello Tomas,at this beautiful windmill in Kuzelov is held the folk festival of the region Hornacko.
This statue of the knight you can find in Brno and @liltammy also contributed in one of your challenge. Very interesting is the view from beneath of the statue :-)

101_6239.JPG
But in fact you see the chest and chin of the statue! This monument was installed in October 2015, the author is Jaroslav Rona.

St. Vitus Cathedral. You can not walk about the cathedral as you like. For tourists, specially enclosed by rope space, on which they can move. We go in one door, we pass in a circle, and we leave in others. To get back to the cathedral, you have to buy a ticket again.
When you get into the cathedral for the first time, you simply freeze on the spot from the beauty and richness seen.
Here are buried five kings, five Czech saints and other outstanding people.
The impression is already produced by the very building of the cathedral, its special Gothic style.

Just searched through so many beautiful photos of Prague! Here is one of my personal favorites. My brother and I went travelling through Europe together as a gift to him & I from myself for graduating uni. We love street art and graffiti and Prague has some gems. This is along one of the main streets in prague, and is just two of the four images painted in a row here.

I was never sure... But I can see alot of it in Czech Republic too.

Here is another picture of the Astrological Clock in Prague's Old Town Square. At the top of it is a fantastic lookout that can give you one of the best views of the city. If you ever visit I highly suggest you check it out.

DSCF3726.JPG

This is Wenceslas Square during the night. I took this picture a month ago during the Christmas Market time and that's probably why there are lights on the trees. I took this one from the middle of the street but it was even more beautiful from the top it (but unfortunately I didn't take a picture).

After graduation my best friend and I did an interrail tour through europe with stop in Prague. We visited Prague Castle and I was totally fascinated of the artist drawing St. Nicholas Church!

What a beautiful pictures!

Čertovka (Devil's Channel) is a water channel in Prague. Čertovka channel takes water from river Vltava and after almost 900 m it onflows to Vltava river again. The channel was built probably in the 12th century by the Order of the knights of Malta, who added a portion of land to the right and created an island called Kampa.
