I'm here in the beautiful Bonito. So far I've spoken about riding ziplines into rivers and snorkelling with thousands of fish. Today I went to learn about animal conservation and how snakes are helped in the wild.

You can see the ranch is a pretty spectacular place. We arrived after a long journey over scorched red roads.

From here we went to another of the many jewels belonging to Bonito - the Gruta do Lago Azul. I had heard a lot of people talking about this as a must see destination.

Just like the name Bonito which translates to "beautiful" the name of this place is pretty self explanatory too: it means blue caves.

I think I had an idea of what it would be like but nothing prepares you for the perfect and surreal shades of blue.

I mentioned before that Bonito is the eco tourism capital of Brazil - just like in the rest of Bonito, the caves are very well managed. It is for this reason that tourists and locals are not allowed to go in the water, or even to touch it.

Because of this the caves have remained completely pristine.

What is the cost of the tour, living and food expenses?

Are you allowed to wade or swim in the water in the cave. Or is it just a look, see and do not touch tour.

I'm just petrified of snakes and I will NEVER be that close to one... And seeing you so relaxed like that amazes me. I love the photos and the caves do look pristine. I understand why the authorities ban people from having too much contact with the caves because not everyone appreciates nature the way we do and if there are no rules then some people just destroy the natural environment. I'm sure you had a great time and I wish to visit the caves one day. :)

Beautiful photos

@dannystravels your adventures look fun! On an unrelated note, as a trending Steemer, what kind of posts do you like the most? I ask as I am researching trending posters for a future article.

Good view @dannystravels
I wish I can join you in one of your travels

Bonitos caves are truly prestine...looks very pure...I trust the waters are very good for drinking..
My question is...are there any wildlife there like rare species...animals...native people...if so how are they preserved...?

Really nice story and pictures! Followed and Upvoted! Keep sharing my friend!

Awesome stuff. thanks for sharing this stunning shots

Amazing!

I scuba dive in Arrial do Cabo. I really wanna do cave diving in Bonito, but I didn't. I went to The Galapagos instead. Then finally to Colombia after 4 years of traveling, living and hitchhiking around.

Awesome scenery. i'd love to visit the place.
