Hi there, today in [Travel Around Taiwan] I am gonna take you to Tamsui (see here for introduction) and in this particular post we will focus on this little yet beautiful historical chapel - Chapel of Presbyterian Church. It was established by Reverend Mackay (link in Chinese), who is probably the most famous missionary in Taiwan's history. He left some many legacies in Taiwan. We all love him. But, history aside, a beautiful chapel hidden in the alleys of Tamsui cannot hide her beauty for long.... Hope you enjoy the photos! :)
今天我們來到淡水，北台灣知名觀光景點，淡水夕照，漁港，碼頭，老街，油豆腐與魚丸等等，數不盡的觀光梗，哈哈。淡水只要搭捷運就可到達，是非常親民的景點，觀光客與在地人都很多。我很早就對淡水很熟悉了，平常不太去了，因為人太多了。但我對於淡水是有一份感情的，遠在這些觀光客之前。這以後再說吧！
淡水馬偕教堂，又稱禮拜堂，是全台最知名的傳教士，馬偕牧師所建立。馬偕牧師無人不知，在歷史上在今日都一樣有名。歷史上，他知名事蹟包括了拔了上萬顆台灣人的牙！（可以想見當時拔牙是何等大事），下面教堂旁的“偕醫館”就是他當時執業之處。今日，台灣最大的醫院系統之一，馬偕醫院，依然秉持著照顧一般大眾的態度在營運醫療事業，讓人不禁感念這些傳教士，對台灣的貢獻，無人能出其右！政治人物在他們面前，只是歷史的過客浮雲吧？感人....
不說歷史，馬偕教堂，隱身巷弄間，隱約的美，不經意會帶給你，這迷路的旅人。
不談歷史，那火熱的磚紅色，在熱帶植物旁，幾百年前跟幾百年後，一樣迷人，只是待救眾生成為帶著相機的旅人，一樣，絡繹於途...
看看周邊，文創小店林立... 你可知道，在很久以前，這邊可是不少"茶室"喔！（有點顏色的）... [更新--據說還有，但我當年左右看都沒看到了... 可能要人帶路吧? :) ]
馬偕牧師的頭像，立在淡水老街旁。時光流逝，人們關心的事，早已經不一樣了。馬偕若生於當代，他會做些什麼呢？
