I’d been lucky enough to have visited the statue before and was blown away at not only with the statue, but its surroundings. Behind the statue and pagoda are mountains with the clouds forming and rolling over them like something from the National Geographic Channel. It's a spectacular sight!
The statue like most religious monuments was sitting high above the surroundings. So a walk up the steps or drive to the top is necessary unless you want to get your sweat on.
The statue stands at an impressive 67m(220ft) tall and 17m(58ft) in diameter. To compare, the statue of Liberty in New York stands at 93m(305ft)
The whole complex is very peaceful, especially in the pagoda where you can hear the monks chanting.
It's free to visit the Lady Buddha; you can, however, leave a donation should you wish to.
