Regions of the Philippines - Part 2

It takes a while before I continue my post of Philippines Geography and its finest. Here is the next region and so are what we should know about it.

Region II - Cagayan Valley

Cagayan Valley is the second region and also is the second biggest region in the country. The center city of the region is Tuguegarao City and it has a populations of about 2,813,159. The region consist of five 5 provinces which are Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.

The region is located at the big valley of Northeastern Luzon, between the mountain ranges of Cordillera and Sierra Madre. The Cagayan river is crossing the biggest river of the country. The center region is flowing upstream to the Luzon strait in North.


Products produced in the region:

  1. Rice
  2. Corn
  3. Hog
  4. Chicken
  5. Banana


Beautiful places and tourist spot:

  1. Crocodile Island in Sta. Ana, Cagayan
  2. Paraiso Tribu Vizcayano - Eco Park in Nueva Vizcaya
  3. Portabaga Falls in Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan province
  4. Palaui Island in Sta. Ana Cagayan
  5. Nangaramoan beach in Sta. Ana Cagayan
  6. Radiwan Point in Batanes

The people wear simple clothes, as men mostly wear kamesa de Chino and barong Tagalog Philippines national costume. People has Japanese influence and still practice old traditions.
