Situation: 18 km from Sawi, Chumphon province, Thailand.
Thailand is an easy place to travel, it can be crowded with tourists but there are so many amazing places to discover you can come here every year and never be disappointed.
If you are looking for a quiet piece of heaven, Tong Tom Yai is a place well worth visiting. Take a break from Bangkok to discover fishermen lifestyle in Thailand and just relax...
Fishermen village, about 40 km south of Chumphon, is an ideal place to enjoy local Thai life, freshly caught fish and Thai home cooking, Kai and his family will take care of you. Have a look at the map.
The Homestay
The habitation is rustic, located on stilts over the water. Sleep on futons. Eat on the floor with guests and family. Enjoy the sounds of the waves.

Food is amazing, freshly cooked in Thai style, grilled fish, squid, soup, and of course rice.

Transportation
From Sawi Railway Station, walk on the main road until you reach the Government Savings Bank to catch the local bus (or car/taxi). Ask for Tong Tom Yai homestay, the price should be 50 baht per person or 100 baht if you're a solo traveller.
From Bangkok, Hat Yai, Surat Thani or Chumphon, all trains stop at Sawi. Check the Thailand Railway website for timetable
