My brother (@fronttowardenemy) and I went to Vietnam recently. Join us on our ride through the mountains.

On this day of riding the weather started out hazy along with the feeling in my head. We had spent the night before over indulging in beer and rice wine shots. It was fun and we met a lot of nice people but I was regretting it when I woke up. However, we had a decent ride today so it was off to Cao Bang.

We rode through a big farming area.

If there is room to grow something, the farmers will try.

It felt like farming is year round in this climate.

As usual the scenery was epic. Banana trees and jungle surrounded us when there wasn't a farm nearby.

One thing I found interesting in the towns was that all of the lottery advertisements featured corn. I guess corn is a symbol of prosperity or wealth. Who knows maybe if you win you get paid in corn.

We stopped in a small town for lunch looking for some Pho. We ended up eating hot pot with some local guys who despite it being around noon, were trying to get us to have shots with them. Even with the language barrier, It was nice to sit with these guys and share some food. There is more of them in the video below.

We arrived in the city of Cao Bang and found a place to stay. At this point I think I was too tired to take pictures because I don't seem to have any of the city itself. We went out for dinner and had the best Bahn Mi of the trip. Here is a short vlog about this day's ride.
