Tokyo is full of hidden secrets. Waiting for you to find them. By chance, I decided to walk down this cute little lane up from Harajuku in the 'high end' area of Omotesando.
I am glad I did, a cute little discreet sign that read, 'ice-cream' welcomed me in on a hot Summers day in Tokyo.
The sign sits out the front of a very non-discreet building. But let me tell you, it's not that when you walk in.
This is not your average ice cream parlor, this place is deliciously swanky. Set in a garden courtyard, that's cool and shady, Glaciel Omotesando offers beautiful icecream entremets. Upstairs has extra seating if you feel like plated desserts and the whole sit in experience. Downstairs is more casual, an open kitchen where you can see the chefs making icecream and entremets.
We opted for ice cream, and what a choice we had! I opted for Miyazaki Mango. Miyazaki Mango farmers realized that the Mangoes that fell naturally from the tree were the most delicious and perfect but bruising ie black spots appeared when dropped. Nets were placed on each mango, so when naturally fallen were caught!
If you are in Tokyo and crave good ice cream and desserts, give this place a go!
