First day in Paris, France

I started my journey to Paris this morning at 4:30. I woke up and just laid in bed for about half an hour, when I got up I finished my last minute packing and got dressed. I left for the train station at 5:20 catching the 5:55 train to London Kingscross. I arrived in London around 6:40am and made my way across to St Pancras International. As my gate wasn't open for me to check in I decided to grab a drink from Starbucks. I went with the mocha frappucino, a nice cool drink to help me feel refreshed whilst giving myself the caffeine kick I most definitely needed.
My gate opened at 7:30am and I was through and waiting for my Eurostar to board at around 8. As I waited I looked around the departure lounge and saw many different people either waiting to get home or waiting to start their holidays. As the clock ticked on I got more and more fidgety, I'm not a person who likes to wait around but I'm also a person who doesn't like to be late for things so I always give myself some leeway time.
As the clock ticked to around 8:20 I found that I was boarding the Eurostar on platform 10, whilst walking to my seat I noticed that I didn't have a window. Just a panel to stare at. This didn't matter a lot as I had forgotten to pick up my glasses in the rush of things. I was tired, getting agitated and couldn't see... What a perfect mix to start the holiday with.
Never having been on a Eurostar before I didn't quite know what to expect, all I know is that the crossing between England and France was around half an hour and we arrived 10 minutes early. This would have been great news if I didn't already have 2 hours to waste until I could check into my hotel and freshen up ready for the days trips.
2pm rolled around and I spent an hour in my room charging my phone ready for the few hours ahead.
I started my ventures around Paris with the Notre Dame, this is an exquisite cathedral with beautiful architecture. The stained glass windows are my favourite feature and using these in order to create and lovely patterned effect in photoshop is fantastic. The next stop was the Louvre, I didn't spend a lot of time here as I prefer photography exhibitions rather than art galleries. I did find it rather interesting though how you could see how the statues around the Louvre came to be, with drawings to support the machetes in the gallery as well. Of course the next stop was the Eiffel Tower. Having never been to the top of the Eiffel Tower and whilst noticing I get a discounted price to go to the sommet I thought why not. The views were gorgeous and I started to see the sun set with some pink clouds. This has been a very busy but worthwhile day and I am looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
